Anyone notice in the Nvidia guide that SSAO looks better than HBAO+ in some cases? It seems to do a better job of shading grass, and at a greater distance.

This will come in handy, thanks. A man needs his optimization guide, since no one else does it for him. May the disregarding of powerful hardware and the disabling of effects commence for the utopic 60fps

Nice to see Vernon, probably my favourite character from 2. Hopefully he gets more than just a cameo.

I guess i'm gonna try to crank up as much settings as i can and aim for a stable 30 fps with v-sync. Otherwise i expect a shitload of fps variation and to me that's more annoying than anything.

Wonder if that guy with the monocle is the old merchant from the first game.

A short warning:
The 352.86-desktop-win8-win7-winvista-64bit-international-whql (latest nVidia "Witcher 3" drivers) cause crashes and black screens in several games. There is also a discussion on guru3d about them, and they seem to cause some problems on certain systems.
Had my first drivers stopped responding and recovered crap with these, since fall 2014 (the time I got this card).

PC website Gamewatcher Witcher 3 review in progress
What's your system specs?
My, you're pushy aren't you? It's an Intel i5-4670 CPU @ 3.40GHz (4 CPUs), 8Gb RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 with 4Gb RAM, Windows 7 64-bit, etc. So, not spectacular, but I'm actually getting a good performance out of it.
So what sort of level of detail are we talking here? "Low" settings with a helping of "Very Low" and a side order of "Buy a new PC, grandad"?
Screw you, young whippersnapper. Mostly Medium settings, with Terrain Detail and Character Detail both set to High, with all Post Processing Effects set to maximum including HBAO+. And it still runs perfectly with no slowdown, so I can bump it up more if I want.
Ergh, it's not as bad as Dragon Age: Inquisition is it?
Dragon Age: Inquisition is great, but by only having limited (but massive) areas psychologically it makes players want to explore them all, whereas The Witcher 3, like Skyrim, is proper open-world. You have full freedom with what you do and where you go, so there's less compulsion to pick every flower. It's not possible to do it all, so you don't. Weird, I know. But there are loads of quests and there are many '?' symbols on the map to investigate. These could be new quests, or locations, or a hive of ghouls to be blown up, places of power, but always something interesting and worth your time.
Wow, that all sounds great. Anything bad you can say about it?
It's clearly been made with a joypad in mind. It doesn't matter, but the default keyboard bindings are insane. "Strong Attack" is Shift + Direction + Left Mouse Button? Space to "Roll" and Alt to "Dodge"? I was fiddling about with the key bindings for my first hour of play, and I still can't remember how to change a target while locked on. I think I've got used to it, but I'm strongly considering plugging in my Xbox pad.

Holy crap that was fantastic trailer. Love how it ends with gameplay. Now that's a launch trailer... wow.

According to GameSpot review, they said this version was easier, so to turn it up a notch from what you would usually play it at. Take from that what you will.

They said the expansions will take place during the main story, not after
