Ah... that's the classic Titan.

I was wondering that the new titan definitely did not have 30 fps on 1080 Razz

Thats why I asked why kind of PC would be necessary to play it at PS4 level (graphics and framerate). It looks extremely unoptimized.
If a Titan X is getting this kind of frame rate in 1080p (even if its in ultra) I wonder what kind of performance can I expect on my quickly aging 7970.

Why are they testing so much with SSAO? Ultra means HBAO+ and nothing below that shit! The good thing is the benchmarks are not that important. When Dragon Age had around 45 in the benchmark the game experience was at about 50-60fps most of the time. So these benchmarks most probably give us an idea of the worst case scenario.

@gomez: PS4 level means 1080p with high details and no AA probably with max. 30fps? Not that difficult....but thats not what pc players should aim for.

What's your cpu? I don't think you'll have problems running the game 50+ on high settings. Unless it's unoptimized beyond words..

7970 is effectively a 280 (overclock to Ghz levels for 280X) so you'd get roughly 285 levels of performance.. and that's 25-29fps territory according to PCGH. At Ultra of course, lower settings to get better performance, as always, but still... <30fps at 1080p with a 280/280x Facepalm

I find it funny how none of you question the fact that a titan or 780 are so far behind the 970 (30 on the former 45 fps on the latter) which is almost the same card.

Because that is so important we absolutely have to question it?
It's all connected: we're probably getting unoptimized shit again.

That's what happens when you let nvidia gremlins mess with your code - they break it so it only runs on their latest line of cards.

It's not hard.

If vidcard =! maxwell newfps=fps/1.5

Something wrong with that titan if the 970 is 50% faster.

Also HBAO+ is like 5%max hit on performance, 970 is still at 40+ frames even with it on.
I always thought that the 970 is on par with the "classic" Titan performance. Apparently something works rather good with maxwell, which doesn't like keppler at all Laughing

That is because Nvidia likes to gimp out Kepler performance in their drivers to make Maxwell look better.
