I'm in the market for a soundbar to use with my TV. I don't know whether any of you have experience with a soundbar, but this is the only forum I visit so I'll ask here on the off-chance we have some knowledgeable people in that area.

First off, I always thought soundbars were shitty gimmicks. I know LED TVs sound like shit, they are very thin to sound good, but I had doubts about a long bar with some speakers in it. That ended when I heard a Harman Kardon soundbar in a store, I was blown away by the sound. Buuuuut, that thing costs around 750 euros :/ My question is, how smart a purchase would a sub 100 euros soundbar be? Something like Sony ht-ct60bt for example. The Sony soundbar has one great review, no one seems to even bother reviewing soundbars cheaper than 250 bucks. Rich bastards.
As for 5.1 sets, those are not an option unless a cheap and good set comes with wireless speakers.

I really like the idea of soundbar. Usually I see that many people (and my parents) have those 5.1 home theater column systems... which are just huge clutter in small apartments. I've reduced my pc speakers to 2.1 but the cables are still super annoying and subwoofer takes plenty of precious space.

So the idea of soundbar is not a bad one for those who want to save some space. The sound quality itself can be really great but I dunno about sound separation as even simple stereo gets lost.
It's not so bad with pc, because You cab have soundbar on Your desk and still pick up left/right (like amazing sound blaster roar) but it gets lost in the distance of living room.
I would still pick a sound bar any day just because stereo separation is not that important in living room situation when just watching tv

edit: I don;t know what I am talking about so take it all with a grain of salt Laughing

That's a good one with nice options, but it's 350+ euros.
