I disagree. I liked it a lot, reminded me very much of the opening to the first game which I still think it's one of the coolest CG cutscenes in any game. Also, it made me think again of how much I want a full movie or even show in that style, similar to the Beowulf movie for example. Fuck live action and all that.

Same here! I loved the opening to W1 and I definitely got the same kind of vibe from the new one, almost like an homage it seems.
Though it does show just how far CG has come, doesn't it?

Even though it looks slightly worse than yesterday's IGN stream it still looks a lot better than the ridiculous looking flood of media we got bombarded with here 2 days ago when the PS4 reviews came up.
My only important annoyance would be the blurry grass, but apparently the good old witcher 2 default sharpening filter should do away with that just fine
Very complete and well structured read, but be warned that even though the guy says he won't spoil The Witcher 3, on many occasions during the article he seems very eager to spoil stuff that I assume is only learned while playing. Especially details about Ciri that if you didn't know The Witcher saga before the games (like me) will be completely spoiled for you (I assume you learn about them while playing the new game). The moment I detected he was telling a tale about Ciri's past, origins and even why she is so important to the Emperor I insta-skipped those paragraphs.
