It is not a true open world , one cannot ride from White Orchards to Novigrad, it more like several smaller areas that one can jump between.

iirc these DLC freebies are done in a sense to mock all those prehurrdurr exclusive cosmetic bonuses from recent years

Er, White Orchard is an intro area I believe.
If I am not recognizing a thread-related hyperbole properly, then move along, nothing to see here;)

Seriously?
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

Yes, It's like W2 but every area is larger and you can actually move between them at will.

There are around 4-5 areas.
2 of them are each a big island in the sea then you have the big mainland, the starter area and 1 or 2 other smaller areas needed for some story-part.
But the mainland is one big open world.

Well, while most reviews certainly won't be trustworthy, at least we'll get some light shined on some of the apparent and possible issues.

nice, so most of the world is indeed proper open-world, with teleportation to 2 smaller areas that are geographically too far away in the game world to implement seamlessly.

So I assume, among others, that the day1-patch is for implementing proper PC controls.
A very "encouraging" thought, considering this is coming from a PC-loving company.

The interesting thing about that is that console releases have to be submitted for certification by the platform holder at least a few weeks before launch. I assume this means MS gave them an easy pass knowing that there would be a massive day one patch required - which is exactly the sort of practice certification is meant to prevent.

So no computer controls, no computer specific hud or ui, no computer centric game design, and now no computer reviews, so no info about correct controls or performance. But fucking sony, may it die a slow, agonizing death, gets everything. And just two games ago they were a PC only with only mouse and keyboard supported company. Fucking consoles and sony and microsoft, i despise them so profoundly, so intensely.

I feel your pain brother qqq. I can feel it deeply. This is a duality. Fucking consoles here and the great pc there. Money companieson one side and nothing from the pc side. Touch my special place.
