Pretty sure most people are just trolling, except SupermaxBorn2004.
I don't see what relevance game size has except poor compression or usage of inefficient formats for videos/audio.

I hope this 70gb thing isn't a new trend, my poor SSD won't survive.

70gigs might be enough for the derpstation, but it won't do for PCMR.

Not if the PS4 is 70GB and the PC is 24GB, no, it won't. I'm sure you'll spin that as somehow great for PC and good of CDPR though

Yup, I'm tired of games being 30/40/50GB and up, but if the PS4 version is this much larger ("compression! time of day! scales!") then something is dodgy as fuck. Well, dodgy to the rest of us, the fantwats just spin it again.

It doesn't make sense AT ALL if its really that big for PS4 and that small for PC. Can't be true.....

My god you're touchy... especially for someone that mocks everyone and dismisses them as idiots left right and center.
But yes, this time I am calling it whining, and I'm standing by it... you guys are all so elitist here but the equation "size = graphics quality" is one of the more ignorant "console derps" opinion I've ever heard, and quite simply idiotic.
In fact, the sudden rise in games' sizes of late started exactly with the new console cycle, simply because the devs now have 50gb available no matter what (standard bluray size) so they try to take advantage of it by having as much uncompressed data as possible on the disc so they don't have to waste CPU cycles decoding/decompressing shit, which might save a few fpses on the poor consoles' low-end hardware.
EDIT: And I'm calling complete BS on the "PS4 version is 77gb" thing, there's no way they used a 3+ layer BD disc just for the sake of it...

Nobody said install size absolutely equals game size, but if you are insisting that 24GB of installed game data has the same, or better, quality as 77GB uncompressed, then you're the biggest derp in this thread. Bar none. And this thread has had Supermax and Derp80 posting in it. Not to mention the fact that I already stated I think the earlier claims of "77GB" are lies, but you kind of ignored that because it didn't fit your narrative.
Though even if they aren't lies, if you don't think something is shady when the "Ultra Quality!!" PC version is less than a third of the size of the PLAYSTATION one, then... we have nothing else to discuss.
"Peace" (until the next time you throw out your insults while hiding behind a claim of moral superiority)

so what? nobody said anything bout 70gigs. devs said ps4 will need 50gb, but they already restated it only needs 35. so they changed the distrubtion system -> not everything gets unpacked, or some files are simply not packed. on pc you need 50gb for digital version too to dl and install. xone said something about 30gb. so size is the same on all plattforms

Actually, the preload is english only, other languages can be downloaded later.

atleast the review embargo is already over tomorrow, instead of on release day like most games nowadays. unlike most of you here i havent preordered the game yet, will check the smaller reviews of lesser (unpaid) sites/magazines and make up my mind about the state of the downgrade and overall quality of the game.
while at this point the downgrade is very obvious, so is the high quality of the writing/quests, but i will first research and then decide.

looks like they are really confident about the game if they have embargo for review a week before release

Same here. There will be plenty of time to preload it.
Mafia 2 taught me a thing or two about blind pre-ordering based only on past titles.

mafia 2 was good yes, but it had much more potential. mafia 1 was praised because it was "the shit" back in the time when it came out, nothing else like that was seen before. 2 just was delayed too much and as i said -> hasnt used the potential the city gave them

Mafia 2 was OK, while Mafia 1 still remains my favorite game of all time.
M2 also had a majority of side content removed, so...

This!
M2 was good indeed, but nothing more. M2 also showed me the power of the hype train. The little bits of information I had when summed with the knowledge I had over M1 plus the faith I had on the developers made it the best shit in the universe. even before it's release And no reality can ever compete with that. Lesson learned, not repeated. Pre-orders only when I'm already pretty sure of what I'm getting (tested betas, trusted reviews, etc).
