Well, as much as I envy those PS4 owners, the fact remains that a game "leaked" on the PS4 simply means an already sold game that was delivered early, while a leak on PC would mean it's all over the net already. I don't think it's fair to compare those two scenarios - at least until current gen consoles are broken. Having said that, piracy obviously isn't and never was a PC-only problem and anyone who paints it that way is a dickhead.

And most who would have downloaded it would have already pre-ordered. Piracy is not as big of a problem anymore with the cheaper prices or the vpn workarounds.
The biggest lessons for them should be: sell it at the right price and you have not much to worry.

The fact remains the console versions have no protection, no gates in place, whereas the PC is the one that gets screwed once again. Anyone can go and buy the PS4/XB copy of the game now, if they can find it, and play up to 2 weeks before PC gamers can.
All because CDP stuffed some "anti-leak" measures exclusively on the PC SKU.

The scenario has been the same for years, pre-release locks on PC version with no protection or gates or preventative measures on console ones .. even during the height of PS360 piracy or early leaks. Games would always leak up to weeks prior to release.

"Sell your AAA title for 10$ if you don't want it to be pirated" is a lesson most publishers are unwilling to learn, I bet.

It's far from 10$, but I am not surprised someone would ridicule it. 30's and 40€ reaches a lot of people already.
But 50€ and above... most will say: fuck that.
That being said... I'm sure they can still eat from that, if you look at how low they sell at some countries.

I still remember when my friend back in the day refused to play Freedom Fighters because it was only 1 CD game, whereas most were on at least 2 at that time.
