Well that's it, that's all it was, the "flak" is over it not being finished and yet they're charging for it. I don't think many people are upset over it going retail.. especially considering they're ALSO putting out the updated mod version for free alongside it Very Happy

Just wait some more then? Propably will be on sale when Xen is released anyway.

Just can't agree with the flak but that's because I liked it so much and deem it worth the 20€... Not saying anyone is wrong or anything. To each his own.

Enjoyed this more than alot of fullprice titles I bought though.. which says alot.

I do think they deserve the money, unless they fuck up xen really badly. I simply want to play it with fixes soon, as it's been a while since I played HL 1.

Lost Alpha?
Someone leaked it so they cancelled it and released for free.

Oh? this must have been fairly recent then? I remember reading on the official site for Lost Alpha being funded by the developer and going retail, this was perhaps 4-5 months ago..

They're also currently working on a Lost Alpha "directors cut" which will have a ton of improvements.

Easily one of the best mods ever, if not the best

I didn't know about that free/paid shit versions but I would have paid for this years ago when I originally played it if it was possible

Same, They did an awesome job with it and I replay hl1 a lot. Pretty cool of valve to endorse this thing and let them make some cash. Honestly reckon better than last couple of years of fps from other AAA devs

It looks like the creator of On a Rail Uncut and Surface Tension Uncut isn't going to bother porting them to the retail version any time soon

http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1266077&p=47391418&viewfull=1#post47391418

Which sucks, because I thought they were well done and added hours to the game.

This has been known for months and I've posted it before. He is going to put them on the workshop. Edit wait what? He is not going to do that? Let me read what you posted, hold on. Edit sounds like he won't have them available on the workshop on release like be said before. He might do it.. eventually, or he might not. They will still be available for the free version though.

The included content is 85% of the game so it's more like a car without a bumper or something.

That's not fair. You can't pick and choose what 85% you want to incorporate and if you think a bumper constitutes 85% of the entire car, then... Laughing No, it really is more like M4trix's example; a car missing a wheel, or perhaps an engine missing a few components. This is Half-Life 1 without an end, with an unfinished story, no resolu..

... wait, that sounds about right for the whole series, never mind then

Completely agreed! I stopped playing BMS to wait for the final part of it and I had a friggin' BLAST throughout, so I'll absolutely pick this up retail ... when it's finished.

Especially at the end where Gman offers you one of two options to choose! Priceless! Very Happy
