Now it won't turn on. If I connect it to a USB though, it turns on, shows the LG logo and after 4 seconds restarts, infinitely.
How can I tell if the battery is dead or the phone itself? Because if it's the battery I can just buy a replacement. Any ideas?

Yeah best thing to do when it falls in the water is DON"T touch any buttons and remove the battery asap. Then put it in rice like Janz says and wait it out a couple of days

shitty lg phones cant handle a half beer? man im glad i have a nokia, there were plenty of idiots who spilled drinks over the table when my phone was lying there
but cmon bro, its wet and u try to switch it on? most likely destroyed it. and dont even think about rma, all water markers most likely have "turned on" inside.
the last thing you can try is the drying and rice stuff, it might work (friend of mine dropped his old nokia n8 in the sink, the idiot tried to switch it on -> was dead for a week but worked again after that drying out completely. but after all thats a nokia)

get your budget up to around 200 euros and buy a lumia 830 from a contract extension or from someone who "used" it for a week. they are available for that price (new ones around 250). its worth it, far better than those cheap android fuckthings. otherwise a lumia 640 might be interesting, although i would prefer the 830 cause of a few things

There are no alternatives for some of the apps I need. Some are specific to my country/language, also I intend to use other apps in the future, Microsoft missed the boat and now their store is missing support from devs, even though their hardware and OS is good.
I've made an informed decision to go with Android again, one of the two phones from the link I posted earlier.
