I was the guy quoted from the other forum earlier in this thread.
I reported about all this last night and earlier today also broke the news about the public version being adware infected.
Well, the public version is now released.....with adware. (and still crippled with no standalone SF support).
Enjoy.

because updating the games u gets newest starforce and securom. need to phisically disable your optical drives. dtools pro will solve that

i know but,it will be great if a tool do all.(emulate securom, starforce all version,safedisc,tages...) without do anything apart just mount and play.
BUT the perfection doesn't exist |
dtools pro! u'll see it |
Yeah, just like we've seen this DT4 at work. Sure, SF releases work now, but do I have to remind you that you still need SFNightmare to disable roms, that is in SF below 3.5, 'cause for 3.6 you need to unplug your cables. This is the way SF releases worked before, with SFCure driver (which can, btw, be made an automated process if you do a little regedit on startup type, so no bitching about pushing start.bat and stop.bat 'cause you don't have to do that everytime), so where's the progress? Oh, I forgot, some people didn't know how to use SFCure so they simply gave up, and now this wannabe end of SF program called DT4 is their knight in shining armour (and I don't mean you Selt). Bottom line is that DT4 is not what they promised it would be, since I'm still required to use 3rd party programs. It will not work with SF nor Securom7, not without using SFNightmare or pulling cables.

guys, daemon tools is officially released on their website.
the version we got here is adware free, i really suggest everyone to go getting the adware version. it's still free for us, but it's a way to support daemon team even if u don't want to be a paying customer.

Yeah dude! exactly..
Just unplugged the cable and Splinter Cell is working again!!
But Path Of Neo isn't!! The weird thing is that no error occurs!!
When i execute it it just stays in the process (CTRL+ALT+ DEL) but nothing happens... dunno if its something wrong with the protection or the update...

I remember those posts..."Unplugging my cables...no, I won't do that, I'll just wait for DT4 release, they're gone whipp SF's ass". Well, now we all got smth else to wait for, the great (praised be its name),behold the IDE plugin! Seems that unplugging cables its OK now that DT4 is finally out.

Code: | Dear DT-Community,
today, we release the new V4.00.
As we already heard from our customers, it fixes indeed
most or even all blacklists - however, it is STILL a SCSI-Emulator,
therefore it's still necessary to remove present IDE-Drives!
As nearly all protections now block ALL SCSI-Drives, no matter
if REAL or VIRTUAL, you need to DISABLE your ide-drives!
This version is more or less only a "next step", it does NOT
contain an IDE-Jammer atm. However, we are working on it and
will hopefully have it ready soon. So be warned - do NOT complain
about the "lack" of the IDE-Jammer-Device. We release it now,
as is. It fullfilles its job as long as no IDE is present in
System or you otherwise block that IDE-nodes. After all it's
STILL free!
Another important change is the integration of ADWARE.
Yes, we need that revenues. However, we decided to let
YOU choose to run it with ADWARE and support us - or simple
turn it OFF in installation-process and run it same way
as former versions - without ADWARE. By default, it is turned
ON - to not install that ADWARE, please UNCHECK at installation
"DAEMON TOOLS SEARCHBAR" (or you can remove it anytime later when
you wish via "Control Panel"-> "Add/Remove programs")
We leave that decision to you, so please don't blame us that we did
it that way. It was a compromise to continue the free support -
we would much appreciate it if you install that ADWARE-stuff. We set-
up a special forum so please post in THAT forum only about questions,
concerns or anything else that is related to that ADWARE. The forum's
name is "DAEMON Tools Searchbar".
To sum it up:
- NO IDE-Jammer atm - we are working on it! No ETA for it - it's done
when it's done!
- ADWARE INCLUDED - you can, however, UNCHECK that ADWARE at installation!
The changelog for V4:
- complete redesign from scratch
- support of 4 virtual drives
- ONLY X32-supported now. X64 will follow
- Drivername randomly generated on each machine (not finished yet)
- Drive-vendor and versionnumber randomly generated
- Complete new emulation architecture
- DCP (DaemonCodeProtect) to make analyses harder and increase development time for malicious anti-DT tools
- Digital signature verification of applications who are trusted to access DT in secure mode
- AutoInsertNotification fully implemented (can be turned on/off at ControlPanel)
- Dropped: MS-Installer, DT now use modificated NullsoftInstaller
- Dropped: analog sound support (as Windows 2000 and above do not need this feature)
- supports all popular copyprotections
Again: This version is an "in between" step to fix latest issues not only
with protections but also many other issues and installation-problems.
We work hard to release soon next update! |

GT Legends is StarForce 3.6.10.03. All the games that are SF3.5 and below work without unplugging cables, as they did before DT4. That includes SCCT, Trackmania Sunrise, Cross Racing Championship2005 and so on.
And 10x guys for the adware, I didn't know what I was missing in my computer besides those 6 or 7 SF drivers...lol, one more Extended IO Bus which installs itself at the beginning, and does not remove itself when DT4 is uninstalled. Sound awfully familiar.

No, works with the 1.05 version too, without unpluging drives. if you have to disable an IDe channel and SFNightmare doesn't work for you, either disable it via Device Manager (requires reboot) or via BIOS. I'm not to familiar with laptops.
