Make sure you copy the updated "s_co_driver_common.bnk" to audio\soundbanks\enUs\.

The driving model/handling isn't sim but it's quite satisfying and challenging as you said. I'm having fun even with the gamepad and the stages are very well designed. The menus are functional also. This one must be the best rally game since RBR.

Isn't that only when running in benchmarking?

Codemasters have developed a good driving game. It's one of those sentences that you thought you couldn't read anymore, and my brain still can't process it, but it's true. Very Happy Laughing

It's not perfect by any means, and does't reach the complexity of RBR, but the handling is definitely leaning towards the simulation, since it requires precision and good reflexes to succeed. Much better than any of the other Dirty Dirts, and superior to the Milestone's games too.

The stage design is really good indeed. Begone autobahn-parties, welcome narrow, dangerous rally roads. Very Happy
Perhaps cars have a bit too much grip and not enough inertia, but it's not a huge issue and can be improved if they really listen to the community.
The sound effects are very well-made too, color me impressed because I wasn't expecting that from the Codiemen. Night racing in the woods with rain is simply Me Gusta

Some quick Screens pls

Does it have a completed career mode for the provided tracks?
Can I play it like an episodic game, beating the new tracks each month as they are released?

The Career mode seems very work-in-progress so far, it's three events (one track for each location, you can choose) and that's it. However you can create custom events with the AI that include all the circuits of a single stage and pretend it's an official race. Razz
(There's Hillclimb too, but it's not available yet)

As for the visuals, well it's the good ol' Ego engine so it's nothing fancy. Very Happy Though it runs well even downsampled here and doesn't require sunglasses for the bloom like in Grid 2 so that's a plus.

Amateur, second race, 2 curves in i immediately made a flying double barrel roll which blew one of my tires (also i was trying out of habit gtav controls to get my car straight Laughing)
Anyway, still came in third. I think the car reacts a bit too well considering there is no fucking tire Laughing

Game runs butter smooth with everything on ultra.

Haha Very Happy, I think you'll like it. Don't expect anything too mind-blowing or overly elaborate when it comes to the handling though, it's rather simulative, but I wouldn't say full-sim (plus I'm still wheel-less so I can't say whether the ffb is decent or not - apparently it needs some work). But still, it's engaging and requires practice, which is basically the opposite of the old "imma press A all the way down and let the awesome caress my hair" Dirt 3 driving technique Laughing

(You can find the ISOAccess at ye usual rin, first page of the thread - I'd always advise against buying a Codie game straight away, no matter the quality Razz)

Game is quite cheeky, it doesn't give you the "zomg the speed" feel, but you can't take turns at full speed either.

downloading this now as I've been waiting for a game which gives me that rbr kinda feel. Not expecting it to have the same sim feel as that, from the looks of videos seems like the car still seems to pivot on an imaginary point which doesn't inspire a lot for realism but it looks a damn sight better than the previous dirt abortions.

as for multiplayer mode, I'd be happy with a tournament system online where instead of all playing together live in a fuckfest of a thin track, the tournament gives like 12 hours for all participants to do the stage and repair for the next.

So its an online based pointing system but the race is essentially in a single player mode. I'd like that if it was to be improvised. Grabbing mr .rin for now first. the FFB is a concern for me as I've read its a bit pantsy at the moment Smile

couldn't resist and I bought it, and from what I played it does worth the money.

It's far from being easy, and it actually gives you the feeling of danger when you start pushing too much.

pros:
-it's realistic. Not as much as RBR, but not far either.
-learning curve is not reaaaaally steep. How and where improve your driving is comprehensible and feasible.
-when you start thinking and driving in rally terms is really satisfactory
-ground surfaces are actually differentiated in terms of grip (ex. wet snowy is different from thin snowy ground)
-it's cheap on giving you money/prizes. Good for career.
-no more gaymkanas

cons:
-game has the same old CMR syndrome: car is a nail on the ground. Very hard to tip off: it happens only when u exaggerate a LOT.
-online challenges are just ONE-GO. U fail? No retry. And there's no possibility for prior "study" of the track.

I tried the game for a while and actually liked it! Smile

Especially the fact that the car feels as if it was riding on the road, rather than sliding on its surface like in the previous titles. So unexpected in Codemaster's game. Wink

In my pants Me Gusta

Too many games that I absolutely want to play... so this one will have to wait a bit longer.
Still its already an accomplishment of them to have me interested in a rally game again.
