I'm getting hyped, despite the obvious downgrade. Seriously can't wait to play.
Combat actually looks fun (even though none of the previews had good examples, but I think this is because of stupid players and controllers). It reminds me somewhat of the Arkham-style combat, but without the warning icons when you're getting attacked.
Quests look great fun too, seems like every quest is unique. I can't remember being excited for an RPG because of it's quests.
It's good that the game will probably run good(ish) on most pc's. However, a new (pc) game shouldn't be able to run at 60FPS with ultra details, unless it's on a high-end pc. That's a sign that they downgraded too much, in my opinion.

No, of course not. They have said that the PC version has more advanced post-processing effects, and I imagine that there will be a raft of other differences like draw distance, object density, etc., not to mention resolution and framerate. There should be a marked difference compared to the Xbone version especially, which I imagine will struggle to reach a consistent 30fps at 900p and have shitloads of pop-in, etc.
The reason I highlighted the textures bit is because you said that the devs lied about that and the PC version will include higher res textures. Like I said, that seems like wishful thinking to me.

@Prandur: Yeah the feeling its all about the feeling that might be true. Still GTA feels like its a big city and the relaxing surroundings not like a continent like in Skyrim. Maybe Skyrim feels a lot smaller with vehicles like in motherfucking GTA...

The little console kids dont need a Witcher 3. That game is for men and men only. They dont even know what is happening there. They just wanna rape Triss and kill people and and skip the cutscenes as fast as possible!

Also take into account that Microsoft gets a percentage of the deal, so they make more money from "same price" PC version than console. |

I think the character textures, at least for major characters, should be fine. It seems like Geralt is probably using a mix of 2K and 4K textures for his various bits. I imagine Triss, Yennefer, Ciri, etc. are the same. Where it will be really apparent, especially for those running above 1080, is in some of the environment textures. People have already commented on some of the post-downgrade vegetation textures being noticeably low res.

I must admit, I don't even know why I'm arguing, since I really don't give a fuck about any of this, I'm going to harrrr the game the same I do for every other game... all I can tell you is around here I've seen it in stores and the PC version was 10 less, and that in my book is not "paying the same to get less", it's "paying less to get less". (PS: the screen I posted is from gamestop as well)
