From some guys on some forum:
"I can now make it official.
DT4 is a FUCKING JOKE.
Seriously, it's like spot the difference with version 3.47.
It will NOT run starforce 3.**, Securom 7 or Safedisc 4 games without other programs helping to hide IDE drives.
A quote from VeNoM386, an admin over there:
"Not only Starforce, but latest Securom and SafeDisc seem do not accept anything else if you have IDE drive in your system. This issue is still not resolved in current release and being worked on. We decided not to delay release because of this.
Disconnect all your real IDE CD/DVD devices or try to use some "hiding" tools."
"To be clear, DT4 was released to paying cutomers yesterday.
The site has a customer only download area and forum.
There is a LOT of moaning and dissappointment on the customer forum regarding the lack of changes in this release.
They seem to be keeping the info away from the public side ATM.
(Hell, they kept it from customers too, until yesterday, and even then they just said "hey it's ready for download" without any further word. They only acknowledged that newer protections weren't working unaided when loads of people had complained about it).
Supposedly, the public release is this week, but there is talk of this being postponed. (There are even fanboys there advising the dev team against a public release at present, because they fear the public backlash)."
It seems guys that we had high hopes for nothing

Wow! How disappointing would that be! What about the virtual IDE drives solving SF? The GUI should be totally different with Voodoo mask icons for images. I have heard some people say it looks the same DTools 3.47 and it shouldn't. I am not convinced that this is the final version or the correct version of DTools 4.0. They were saying it would work with SF months ago.

confirm that dtools is real, is the customer version.
my experience disabling internal drives with sfcure
king kong works
glt works
splinter cell works
world racing 2 works
ufo works
chrome specforce works
worms works
tm sunrise works
plus, can throw sdhyde and securomstop in the toilet cuz everything runs without them.
still a scsi drive as expected, the ide virtual drive will come with dtoolspro plugin, without the need to unplug or disable any drive.

What do you mean "disabling internal drives with sfcure" ?
If you mean SFN it is not supposed to work with games like king kong anymore.
If you still use sfcure then what da hell we need DT4 for?

Well it's a joke, 'cause it won't run Securom 7 without disabling your IDE drives. And if you are running SF games using SFCure + somehow disabling IDE drives, then NOTHING IS GAINED. IT'S JUST ANOTHER VIRTUAL DRIVE! C'mon people, wtf?!?! Stop saying it works. "Working" would mean that you don't have to do anything besides mounting the image. Sure, the blacklisting in Securom7 stopped, but the protection demands that you insert the disc into another drive, even specifing what drive should be. You will have to disable your real drives, just like for SF. So...we're not using sr7stop, but we'll use SFNightmare instead...Well, that's a progress, one less icon on my desktop, thank you very much.

Ok, just to be sure:
1. Uninstall DTools 3.47 and Install DTools 4.0
2. Mount image and install game
3. Use StarForce Nightmare to Disable CD, Node and Secondary Master and Slave (For Me anyway)
4. Excecute Game and it works
Is that it for sure? No SFCure? That doesn't seem so bad. Obviously the Virtual IDE plug in for Pro is what we all want. At least we don't have to unplug our IDE Drives anymore.
Also, I tried to post at Daemon Tools forums and they are screening posts and not letting them go through if they say anything negative about DTools 4.0 or about paying customers already getting DTools 4.0. Pathetic if you ask me.
