How is that possible with an open bottom. Water finds its own level and the pond is not the same height. thats pretty unique really.
the tank seems to be FULL to top with water so its not the old submarine cup shit. It must of been fidly to fill tank first and then get it lowered updside down to the water level lol.
No, just dip it into water then pull it up. The water can not flow out if no air can come in as the water flowing out would leave a vacuum. you can try this at home. fill the sink with water, put a glass inside, let it fill with water and pull it up and you'll see that the water will stay in the glass.

but what I am saying is the tank or container that way normally has an air pocket and tension pulling it back down. but I guess it was filled on its side then as you said pulled up to the water line or rather just below then fastned in place
its damn good and simple but makes a awesome centre for the pond.
what would be great is a public pond with many of those tanks placed that way in a pattern and to just see certain tanks appear with fish in from time to time
