meh, the ire's already died down... typical userbase, all that fury for about a day, then meh whatever.... no one cares any more, and valve knows it all blows over...
meanwhile gabe sits in his highbacked leather chair, fingers touching each other, and mutters 'excellent...'

That was getting seriously annoying and overblown as an issue.
Its good thing that modders can now earn money. And we still will have plenty of free mods

If this isn't proof it's a bad thing, I don't know what is.

C'mon. |
Yeah I get that thought as well... but then at times I also remember how incredibly naive and young he is.
And with young I don't mean age...

Ahhh yes, the shit storm we've all been waiting for. Read through some of that reddit thread with Gabe answering community questions.... my god.
How quickly people turn on him haha. Don't blame them though, it's a bunch of crap. I still have faith though.... do the right thing Valve, listen to the community out-cry...

it really is a big issue when modders no longer bother to make their mods free, because.. hey... $5 is better than $0... why bother with nexus if you can take a gamble and shove it on MIGHTY STEAM and make some money?
or when publishers make their modding functionality ONLY work through steam workshop paid mods... herp derp such a non-issue

Making mods takes hours, days, months. And its very difficult.
But at top of that its optional. We can only hope that modders wont charge for simple fixes but for factual work if at all.
I usually play my games unmodded tho but would not pay a penny for things like ui for skyrim

This isn't the same Valve and Gabe we have known for the last decade or so, I wonder what has changed.

They are the same. Gabe has been building up to this for the past 10 years I reckon. And the paid mods are here to stay, so my advice is to get used to it. I am at the stage where I seem to be getting a little sick of gaming so I might just give it up and find a new hobby. All this nonsense has accelerated it, for me

@Bayerss But then I wonder where was the point where he decided to cash in and was that the strategy all along.

Guys, a question. I have some bundle games to trade or exchange, and seeing that I can't access the thread for this (less than 500 messages) I would like to ask you where I can trade or exchange them safely. How's SteamExchange? Is it trustful?
Any other options/choices are welcome. Thanks!
