Those are the answers of someone who simply doesn't care about anything that interferes with his business, he has his strict "vision" and loyal customers should always deal with it. He sees himself as untouchable because of the monopoly. I would really like to see that part changing soon and quickly, but it's a tough cookie and he's already eaten it.

Yes because apparently the only money to ever be made from this, ever, for the rest of all of time itself, was on the first day and only the first day. What a duplicitous twat - the angry emails will stop, any internet outrage burns itself out as people eventually just accept what they've had jammed up their ass and then start enjoying it in silence, but the income and profit from this won't stop at $10k, it will grow. Exponentially when other publishers jump onboard too.

ok could we stop the EA bashing. valve has proven itself to be far nastier than EA ever was, showing they've been playing a long game of quietly making sure they have so much power so that they could ultimately dominate everything. they're their own evil entity. :
and yet people still think EA is a more destructive force than valve..

I'm waiting for GOG to come out with "We will never charge for MODs, we are not as evil as Valve" but then I remember all the W3 backpeddling and think it's probably unlikely. They're really fucking us pretty bad now, 50% of content ripped and dlc, no decent expansions, always online for no reason, unfinished early access scams left and right, now its paid for fucking mods... I think I'm done with AAA.. basically just start playing classic games and emu's now.

U just wait..In 5-10 years or so every AAA game will be released probably the same way diablo 3 got released and it will have crapbook, craptter and the likes integration, built-in ads (you'll have to pay money to disable them), in-game shop etc

Yeah there is the the pirate copy but:
- Forced online means no pirate copy.
- Will all the ripped content / DLC and now mods be included?
- Patches and Updates... games today generally broken on release and its a bitch to deal with cracks + patches and updates.
