Got the legit version on Steam for the upcoming birthday, is it safe to play now (i.e. no annoying bugs), or should I wait some more?

I finished it without any bugs or other things people mentioned here.
Only had the pagefile error popping up, but once i manually fixed that, it was all fine. No crash, no bugs, nothing that fucked it up for me.

Rayque wrote: | Guys, how much vram usage shows MSI Afterburner and similar programs when you play the game? I've noticed that no matter the settings i use (normal, high, very high, over the limit 200-300mb) vram usage on my 660ti never goes beyond 1500mb.
Where did the rest of 500mb go? |
Kepler chips connected to 2GB VRAM via 192-bit bus (GTX 650-Ti Boost, GTX 660, 660 Ti) have problems with bandwidth. First 1.5 GB is connected via 192-bit bus, last 0.5 GB goes via 64-bit. That was stated in first reviews, but noone seemed to care back then (middle range cards, no too VRAM-demanding games at the moment etc).
(The same went for GTX 550-Ti: 768 MB via 192-bit, 256 MB via 64-bit)
Since GTA maxes out VRAM usage, maybe in the latest driver they added a profile to "cap" VRAM usage for GTA V process to 1.5 GB in order to eliminate FPS drops and jerkiness.
Keplers with 128-bit or 256-bit VRAM busses have no bandwidth problem, all memory capacity is connected symmetrically.
Nvidia, kings of competent GPUs crippled with saving on PCB
(I also have GTX 660 )

How long is the game with main story + side missions? Reading the comments seems kinda short :/

And i find out this after almost 3 years. Guess i didn't care that much back then. Thank you for clarifying. The question is, can it be fixed with a patch from R*?
I remember few games were using more than 1800mb. (Thief, Bioshock Infinite, etc)

@Rayque VRAM usage never goes above about 3.4GB for me, I guess it is for the same reason, that the last 0.5 is crippled.

It will be the nVidia driver limiting it, not the game.
