Beware guys, closing the Launcher to increase Performance is seemingly one of the reasons for the crashes. So we're gonna wait for a better fix or that C* does something about it.

HD 7950, i5 3570k, 16gb of ram, Win 8.1 64bit. Didn't mess with the settings much:

Benchmark with fraps from the first house of the black character to the mission and end of it, with fast driving around the city a few big explosions and death scenes ont he cracked (v2) game: Frames: 69255 - Time: 890672ms - Avg: 77.756 - Min: 50 - Max: 257

Can play more with the settings to make the game look better, but hadn't had the time for that. Just wanted a quick benchmark test on that hardware.

Can't seem to get past RSC login screen.

Either option closes the game, installed everything in order. Oh well, I'm going to work anyway. Laughing

Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

You could be a victim of the bug which crashes the game on start. People affected by it have nonstandard characters in their Windows User Account name. Try making a new user account using only letters and run GTA V. Might help.

This gives me an average of around 75 FPS. Lowest recorded FPS during the benchmark test was 55, but only once. Hovers between high 60s to 80 most of the time. Max FPS is between 120 and 130 FPS. Very, very playable, and looks fantastic!

Same as GTA IV, SLI and Crossfire VRAM is mirrored (Rumored to be "fixed" with DX12) so this game reports the full amount but the real usage is half of it or how to say.
(Well it does take up near 8 GB with two 4 GB GPU's as the memory is being mirrored across them to have everything synched properly.)

(The game being able to use over 4 GB of VRAM is pretty extreme as is though, I think it can even reach 6 GB or above at 3840x2160 and above with MSAA.)

EDIT: Shadow of Mordor also has a interesting system where it caches I think 85% or so of your total VRAM so even with a Titan X at 12 GB VRAM the game will report as using over 9 GB of it even if most of it is just cached or reserved.
(Might as well use it if it's available but it does make it seem like the game is crazily VRAM dependent.)

Would be interesting if Rockstar added DX12 compatibility to GTA V later this year which would help Crossfire and SLI GPU owners if the VRAM amount can be separated like that (6 GB of VRAM instead of 3 for example would definitively help.) though it probably also requires a lot of work from the developers and possibly AMD and Nvidia as well and it would be Windows 10 exclusive since MS will not be backporting DirectX to Windows 8 or 8.1

Apparently the same can be done with Mantle as well but as Rockstar primarily works with Nvidia and more so with DX12 getting close to being released that's not going to happen.
(Plus I don't think any of the current few games using Mantle have made use of this feature.)

I have a GTX 980 SLI and it´s unplayable after 10-15 minutes when going over the VRAM Limit. It´s not possible to use 4k and MSAAx4, it goes from 60fps to 5-10fps after a while. Same goes for mordor and ultra textures. Need a couple 980ti asap

You don't even have drops below 30fps when driving fast or in police chases with these settings?? Your pics are only on foot.
I have everything on normal, directx 10.1, 1080p, fxaa and reflections on high, population density slider on medium. 55-60fps when on foot but it drops to mid 40's when driving fast.

anyone having problem with graphics in online sessions?
I'm registering a huge amount of messed up graphics (like polygons enlarged or mishaped) with my Amd 290.

I'm sure its not a overheating problem, cause in sp game goes flawlessy.

EDIT: Nevermind, I had to turn off MSAA.

An alternative you can try: turn on MSAA, but reduce Post-FX to High or lower.
I had this issue, and this fixed it.

Yup, that helped too.

But still why does 3DM's Launcher.exe start in Windowed mode, wtf? Confused
Every other graphics options is saved except for that.

Try turning off MSAA, I have not noticed any graphical artifacts but that was suggested as one possible solution.

Create a shortcut for the launcher.exe in target add "x:\(gamefolder)\launcher.exe" -fullscreen
