I had a lot of stuttering with my 7200rpm, now its almost unnoticeable on the ssd, even while racing fast.
No need to turn off the radio.

Isn't defragging an SSD the worst thing you can do (Aka kill the SSD) ?

It's the same when it's inflicted on cars too

there is something wrong with the settings there, even on ps4 it looks far better than that.

Thats correct, you should not defrag them..

I <think> this url explains it.

mmm not the latest ssd generations, and of course using the right application to defrag, and applying SSD profiling for defragmentation.
Said that, course is better not to defrag too often.
Just once after the installation/moving and you're good to go Wink

edit: ok, no. I also found some (new and old) info around this topic, and no, the final answer seem to be no.
Ok, done it once but anyway useless Very Happy

Anyway if you're using an old fashioned disk hd defragmentation should help the stuttering.

SSD is must for the latest games. Just don't defrag SSD, it is not needed. Unless you have problem with one of the Sandforce Controller SSD - it helped becouse it was "refereshing" info about files.

ssd is not a must for latest games im still running simple sata drives, wow the diff is just a little longer loading before I can play, gee great I'll watch something on other screen for 1 min if needs be.

the next drive ill grab as well will be a terrabyte standard sata 6 - ssd is nice but not really a must.

Now that, I've got to see.

We should play a drinking game. Take a shot every time a "scene group" mentions that a crack is "coming soon."

LOL
So true, massive.

Been struggling trying to free up space on my 256gb

P.S Was going to ask about mods actually, whats the official word on whether we'll be able to do any mods of some sort? They given an official no?

Not sure about games but it is a massive improvement for the OS. Maybe i've been using some super old slow HDDs but as soon as I got an SSD the difference in boot up time and general responsiveness was really noticeable.

https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/f97425f8-3857-4aa4-9cf5-437d5e212c9c/defragging-ssds-a-default

Hello, In Windows 7 - we turned off defrag for SSDs as you mention in your entry; but in Windows 8, we have changed the defrag tool to do a general optimization tool that handles different kinds of storage, and in the case of SSD's it will send 'trim' hints for the entire volume;
