As many Steam community members have noticed, the size of the initial pre-load for Mortal Kombat X is about 3 GB. This is because we are using a new feature of Steam that allows the game to be played while the full download is streamed and installed in the background.
As soon as the game is played for the first time, a batch of DLC content will appear in your download queue. Check the Steam client to see the download progress on DLC items labeled Mortal Kombat X Install Pack 01 through 23.
You’ll be able to play the game while these downloads complete.
Blame Steam for not providing the necessary game data yet.
(And for GTA V there's some hardware ID check, nothing new but will probably take a while to bypass or "emulate" at least.)
Once the remaining ~27 or so GB starts downloading we'll probably see a release shortly after.
Oh and the game uses DirectX 11 and is 64-bit for those wondering.
(Compatibility on older systems, not sure but as it's UE3 it should support DX9 as well.)
the scene are old people now, and newer generations didn't realize that fresh blood would be needed at some point
well seems to me that all skilled groups are down now (SKIDROW, FLT ,CODEX releases mostly the unprotected or basic steamworks protected stuff and RLD only remains for harder stuff like CEG[and rarely its cpu-locked variant]) and the rise of HW-encrypted DRMs came it wrong time

I suppose those 3.1gb was like a Steam pre-release gift/demo with just 2 characters? Am I correct? That's not a bad move. You get a taste of the game some hours before the official release. Better than nothing.
