My PC keeps randomly resetting without warning

In event viewer I can see it has happened 8 times since the 4th of January. It has happened twice in the past 30 minutes alone. The source is marked as 'Kernal-Power'.

The only thing I have plugged in is the USB for my iPad to charge, and to get it to charge, I need to install some ASUS AI Suite POS that allows it to draw the power it needs. Without it, it simply doesn't charge.

This must be the cause of the issue right? I can't imagine what else it would be.

If so, is there other software that is more reliable for this?

AI Suite messes with settings that you set in the BIOS. I dont like this software one bit. Youre better off without it

I remember seeing an option somewhere in the BIOS that allows USB charging.

On a side note, I receive Kernel power events when my OC is unstable. So try tweaking your OC as well

there was also some option in the BIOS to do a dummy load on your PSU so it doesn't auto shut down if the load of your PC is too low

You might wanna check your OC settings. Do you have Internal PLL Overvoltage on what setting? (off/on/auto) some SB chips require this turned on for extra stability. I had kernel power errors on my first 2500K what i bought at release when i started OC it. But sounds like it can have something to do with the USB, since its Apple device everything is possible Laughing
