I think they will, most of those buys are from people who won't buy it at full price at all.
And I know it will sound silly... but the vpn process is complex enough for most gamers for it not being too much of a problem.

Keys are not region locked, you are implying that Rockstar has different keys for each reseller, while its possible I doubt that.

Trying not to cannibalise sales and maximise double/triple dipping I suspect. Everyone knew with 99% certainty that the game would eventually come to PC (and Xbone/PS4), but by refusing to officially confirm it from the get-go, they knew they could get sales from people who might have otherwise waited.

it's obvious to me they exploited the market to the maximum with GTA V

i'm sure it was aimed at ps4/one/PC from the get go and they just released majorily downgraded versions first for ps3/xbox to milk in the cash

then the PS4/one versions

now the PC

hilarious to me

Why hilarious? Its a business, they exist to make money. They make money by saturating one market at a time on high demand items spread out for max profit...like any other company.

Its not some startup kick starter trying to make its way into the gaming genre. Its a well established company distributing to 3 different competing platforms.
Everyone is upset or debating on "I bet it was late due to them milking the profits, damn R*". Why have a 'hunch' about that? Its a company thats bottomline is its goal in the end. its not a hunch or assumption its pretty much business 101. When you have 3 distribution paths that will cut into the profits of each other for you on a product you release once every 6-7 years, you space them out.
its not BF or CoD, where they pump one out every year and have to release on all 3 to make the deadline of all 3 being new customers the next year on the next version.
I'd be more pissed at them for retarded business practices if they released on all 3 parallel Razz.
I say you got a winning game that everyone wants, on 3 platforms that will bring a lot of profit, milk the SHIT out of each one until the stone doesnt give anymore blood before moving to the next one.

Because he bought gta V first on xbox and later realized it ran @ 900p while ps4 would run it @ 1080p

Oh wasnt saying you was pissed. But a few people that doesnt need mentioning (as its all the post about) in this thread are all foaming at the mouth, and personally upset that its released later.
R* isnt your friend, or have any kind of commitment to appease anyone beyond what makes them profit. And GTA does that in spades.

I totally see the logic of: "We are a business first and foremost. We have 2 options, simultaneous release that cuts into our profits, we are kicking ourselves in the nuts with that, and only makes console companies money as people buy them to play the game. Or space it out to max sales on all 3." Knowing the lost sales from those personally offended by it, is FAR out weighted by the extra sales of the different release dates.

I think we can actually change that to Americanish... or is that the one where you spend money you don't have to please yourself and your close friends? I always mix those up Cool Face

Heck I know 4-5 people that have it on console that are also buying it on PC to play with friend again.
If I was rockstar I would do the same.

"You know if we release it at different times, people will buy multiple copies"
"Really? are you shitting me? There are people that will REBUY the exact same product again later if we wait?"
"Apparently so sir, not sure why they would but they do it"
"Well hell, if we can sell the same game 2 times to lots of people because of their obsession for it..go for it!"
"isn't that a bit unethical or sneaky?"
"We arent making them rebuy it, they are telling us if we do that they will buy it again. what do you expect us to do? not make more money?"

There is a line there though. They could split the game in two - and sell them at a full price. I mean GTA5 is 2x-3x the size of an average game and 20x the size of The Order.
