So you want Obsidian to do exactly what we condemn other developers and publishers for doing?

I guess people don't mind being major hypocrites these days.

Major publishers might have succeeded with manipulating people just as they did with Dlc's. Now people crave dlcs if they aren't present or presented later and condemn if they are.

No, I just have the ability to see reason, in what they say, and happen to agree this time. World is not black and white. Pragmatism has its uses.

Guess you need to look harder for sidecontent.

I finished the Endless Paths and all the wardens I could find. Plus I play on hard, so I guess I have all the bestiary completed.

I also found a fuckton of hidden loot, most of my party has superbs.

I may finish today, dunno. By far my GOTY thus far (and I wasn't all that in to it before it launched, so this was a surprise).

You may have to extract the save and delete the level data from it. That will mean you have to redo the fight.

New 580MB patch out on Steam. Someone on Reddit said it is a hotfix for door interactions not working properly through the fog of war. Supposedly there is a another full patch due out some time later in the week:

Patches Still Coming? Yes, we're currently working on patch 1.04, which we hope to release during the week of April 6. We are actively monitoring the Technical Support forum and pulling issues out into our internal bug database.

Finished the game. Will give full review, when more people finish.

80 hours or so on hard. Everything done (every inch crawled - but with fast movement).

I can hardly imagine a game overtaking this for my GOTY this year. I have to say, the game was brilliant. Story, world, RPG mechanics were rock solid. Companions are the only reason, why it doesn't get a flawless score from me, as they weren't all that interesting (though the end of Sagani's quest was very nice), and they weren't all that fleshed out.

The stronghold is very underutilized, I basically saw no point to having it.

Overall, this game is an instant classic, I urge every PC gamer to buy it, it's a core game you must have, and won't regret.

Job well done, Obsidian.

My only gripe is the difficulty levels. Hard is just effortlessly plowing through encounters with auto-attack once you get a full party and upgrade some gear. Then the hardest difficulty just makes you miss all the time. It brings up the old "hero can't beat a mouse" problem where all your guys seem like big pussies individually and can only beat a cricket if they team up against it with debuffs and what not.

Other than that, great game. BG2 was certainly better, but this is really good in modern terms.

I disagree.

DnD is a superior, but more complex system for combat. The best DnD by a very large margin imho was 3.5 though, so it doesn't apply to BG2. Obsidian made their RPG mechanics a bit more simple, but it only lost complexity, not depth - and that is great. The engagement system is great. The resting system is great. The only thing it lack in comparison to BG2 is variety.

On the world, atmosphere and story front however, Obsidian completely shattered BG2. This is a mature game picking philosophical topics in a naturalistic world. I won't go in to detail, don't want to spoil it, but there is more essence here, than in BG2.

BioWere games, even the old ones, are still just fairy-tales. Kotor I vs. II, NWN I vs. II and especially MotB.

Obsidian simply write a heck of a lot better.

The ending may be a bit frustrating for some, it is complete, it is good, it might just not be emotionally fulfilling for you personally. It was really good for me. Bittersweet. That's all I'll say. I think most people here will love it. The ending is much like the game itself.

This is one very consistent game. And the pacing towards the end is great, too.

Overall, this game truly does deserve the 90+ score, unlike most games, which get it.

This can't be. Gamespot just released their review and the game got an 8 because, too much text. While Dragon Age Inquisition, with a review by the same journo, got a 9, superb game grade, mainly due to the "Wonderful cast of interesting and relatable characters, overarching narrative and diverse environments that create a cohesive world, and most importantly, choices that lead to adventure, triumph, and heartbreak". Eternity doesn't even have bulls. Sad

Uhm. Yeah. DA:I tried to be all things to everyone, and only succeeded in being a posterboy for the diversity-quota-fanatics.

There is no ... no character to DA:I. It works as a game, and could be called decent, but it's still just a bland single-player MMO.

Gamespot can go suck a cock, for all I care.
