I thought he meant "sole one around" as in the only inn around.

So much for all the "no downgrade!" tossers, eh? It looked good, yes absolutely, but then.. so did Witcher 2. It just doesn't look even close to as good as the earlier videos, downgrade confirmed :\

He didn't say on what settings, though. Might be MEDIUM, HIGH... who knows... 
Also, you forgot that the game is completed (bug free and performance fixed) only with the Enhanced Edition. Usually this comes ONE YEAR AFTER the launch. Oh, and there might be also a Director's Cut, with a 100% complete feature game that comes TWO years after the launch...

I strongly doubt they were "medium", the texture work was nice (in places, like the character models and details) but the framerate was less than perfect and the overall "scene" just didn't look as glorious as it once used to.

Regardless of the actual game's graphics I would expect "professional" gaming sites to capture and encode at better video quality than this. It looks worse than most "amateur" captures on youtube.

Yep, I keep forgetting TVOEC, second best then. Tho that is a bit of an odd one out, due to the technique they used to scan the models which strongly limits interactivity. Probably TW3 trees and grass will react to light changes, winds and storms in a way that you won't see in TVOEC.

I'm sure the final product will look good, but I don't think anyone can deny that it has received a downgrade since the initial videos.
At this point all I really care about is the gameplay. I'm getting some strong Gothic/Risen vibes from the devs, I hope that's how it turns out.

One thing that I liked from the video, despite a lod distance so low that at times you can barely tell whether you're in front of rocks or bushes, is that open environments in general rarely look lifeless/empty (unlike DAI for example) and that's good since it was one of my concerns.
It's hard to judge combat from a video, but it seemed better than the last time, if anything because they didn't play the game with that embarrassing super-easy-rambo-mode (but then again it's IGN, it may still be easy mode). Ye I keep on rollin' they hatin' mechanics are crucial this time as well, but they don't annoy me too much and there's more variety, so that's alright.
The signs also lack that 'oomph' factor with tons of particles that made them look so impressive back then, probably lost in translation like other details. At least dismemberment is still there, it was generous of you, xbox one.
