I wouldn't be so sure of those times. You can probably double the time needed simply due to the amount of draw these servers will have during release/pre-load time frames. I don't mean to burst bubbles, but we gotta be realistic here.

I guess that could be true for those bastards who have 350 mbps lines Very Happy But in my specific case Steam always maxes out my internet service for every single preload.

How many DVD9s would this game have to come with?

Bluray ain't that widespread on PCs, and USB sticks are still a bit pricey to ship software on.

65/8=8,13

Probably 8 with some decent compression.

or

approximately 45 min IF I change my plan to 200Mbit Very Happy

Although I don't think I will be preloading it coz it might take a shitload of time to "install" steam preload lol. Sometimes it's faster to just download a game after it is released.

Remember that you actually need 2x the space if you want to preload it on SSD. You need 130 GB of space (if it's really 65 GB) to preload and unpack on an SSD.

I learned it the hard way by having to redownload Unity Laughing

I can concur. With Evolve and its fucking 50gb I had to clean up a bit. Later on it only used 20-30gb....so maybe what they mean is you need 65gb of free space for download and install and later on its only 30-40gb or sth.! Cant this be it? I doubt you need 130.....

Unity needed 40 GB or so for the preload, I had 70 GB left on my SSD, and during the unpacking (decrypting?) it needed another 40. I ran out of space on my SSD and had to redownload the whole game again.

So I'm either going to preload it on my HDD and then use Steam Mover once it decrypts and move it to an SSD or I'm just going to wait until release and download it straight to the SSD.

LOL

Well, that would suck
Though i might download and install it first on my HDD, and then copy it over to the SSD at release. But then it might also be faster to just download it at release day grinhurt

Well does it say you need 65gb for GTA5 or does it say downloadsize 65? Evolve it said 50gb needed, downloadsize was a lot less.

If it has a worldwide release you can bet the preload will start at the same time for everyone. Watch the GTA V pc sub on reddit if you want to be one of the first people to know about it.
