So in terms of pure DPS, is Rogue or Cipher better? I think I'm gonna reroll my game (as a wizard)- with the constant need to rest they just totally suck, I don't know what Obisidan was thinking. :\ It wasn't half as bad as this in BG2.

I have Aloth in my party, as he gained levels I could give him more spell slots + some abilities per rest.
I also bought a ring which gave him additional spell slots.
A few classes "open up" like that at higher levels. Right now he has 18 spells per rest, + 3 skills per encounter.
I also have a few rings which give uses per rest for specific spells, such as healing spells or debuff spells.
My priest (Durance) is in a similar situation. 18 spells per rest from his class, 2 spells per encounter, and I gave him a ring for 3 heals per rest.

I like this better than BG2, overall. It gives me a little more flexibility in abilities to use and I don't rest as often as I would.

Also, at level 9 first level spell slots become per encounter. Same thing happens for level 2 later. So... Yeah.

*edit*

But to answer your question, Neon: rogue is completely single target and situational - can hit like a truck, but requires a lot of care and micro. Cipher can be a competent damage dealer - he deals almost as much damage as a sneak attacking rogue with his regular attacks thanks to enhanced soul whip and can dish out some aoe damage/debuffs/crowd control abilities in every fight. Squishiness and accuracy both can be a problem, however (especially late game).

That's a pretty cool way of handling it. In AD&D2 you just got a ridiculous number of level 1-2 casts at high level as a mage.

I thought they'd hotfixed the locks issue.

How do you trigger the concentration penalty? I've not seen this yet. Most issues seem to be related to existing games, I'm glad I didn't get too far and waited for patch to reroll.

Use wizards in tougher encounters. They are not a DPS class, not even when min/maxed. They are what I would call balanced.

Just want to know so i can measure how much i still have left of the game Smile

I reached level 12 near the end.

Couldn't beat the Adra Dragon. Tried for 3 hours, but still couldn't. Got her down to 1 dot one time, but she just randomly turned towards my ranged characters, and fired off her breath. Instant wipe.

So sad Sad

As far as I know, 12 is currently the hard cap.

I'm just about to hit 12 myself, (presumably) right near the end of the main quest. I still have the second round of bounties to do, the last level of the Endless Paths, plus a few companion and other side quests, so if you are a completionist there would probably be enough XP in the game to hit level 14-15 or so, if it weren't capped.

Bounties give around 10k experience each, and there's a lot of them. I reached level 12 at the start of Chapter 3. Some of them also give you really nice weapons/armor.

Tactics for the Adra Dragon (legit, but may be considered a hack by some people)

 Spoiler:

There are more traditiinal ways ( a guy with a solo cipher did it on hardest difff level) , but after repeatedly dying to it's ridiculous corrosive attack I said "fuck it" and did it this way. Damn Firkraag with Tactics mod wasn't this overpowered.

Yeah I just handed in the second round of bounties and they were 11k each, but I was already capped out at level 12. And I picked up a third round of them. So yeah, there's way more XP on offer than you can use.

Btw, still not "legit" I guess, but I found a video of a slightly less cheesy way to tackle the Adra dragon (using a method I think someone else alluded to earlier):

 Spoiler:

Need to see a video of how that solo Cipher did it.

Just got that druid companion, and he seems like a much better wizard grinhurt

He has so many aoe spells that do pretty good damage, while also has some spells that restore endurance

I think i will exchange my wizard companion with him
The other companions i currently have seem too essential to dismiss them: warrior, paladin, priest, my cipher, chanter

Installed the patches and now every line of dialogue that has audio is cut off at the beginning, basically characters start talking mid sentence... not a big deal since I can always read the text, but annoying.

I had the same problem in the release version of the game in the early stages. Seems like it was either not fixed or reintroduced.
