Everyone was far behind last year, but the fun part is: now everyone is even further away (in comparison with Merc).
Again as Ferrari they have no excuse of being 1.4 seconds of the pace. I don't expect them to rival right away with the mercs either. But let it sink in: a constructor team 1 second of the pace, on par (still think slightly slower tho) with a customer team. And as fans we should be happy about it?
I can excuse RB somewhat since they are a works team and the problem is Renault atm.
I guess you didn't get I meant we lost him in the battle for 3rd place?

Ixi's second just because he took Mercedes and Rosberg But yeah, that is going to be a sure point farm
Unlike Mclaren-Honda |
Haha yeah, it was noobish, picking Mercedes is like cheating xD..I know, I know. Have barely followed the pre-season tests this year and had no clue, so I had to go for something "certain".
Haven't even seen the race because I was away, go figure!
@Morphi: Ferrari fans around here are skeptical as well, and rightfully so. The whole team is surely more organized (and perhaps competitive) than before, but indeed the 'top' is still far away

Right team, wrong driver!
I'm sorry, while I think he's a good driver... I just can't stand Vettel as a person. Always copying others or playing a role way too hard. It's like he doesn't have an identity of himself. /rant
It was hilarious how fast Merc was panicking, I did not expect that to happen. While the Ferrari's seem to have improved some more and are starting to get into a respectable position again (still cautious since I usually wait for 3 races to see what is what ) I mostly blame the Mercs for doing a crap job while Ferrari done everything right... even with Kimi's misfortune that boi was flying through the field.
Gotta say I loved this race way way better... more cars more action, hell I think by lap 10 we've seen more action than Melbourne I was glad that most teams to have improved since then: Marussia,Red Bull, Mclaren, Force India... you saw almost everyone performing at least better and I really appreciate the battles it brought forth.
It was great to see finally some battle on the front row... how I wish we can get 2 more teams making life harder in the front, eventho Mercs will most likely dominate... but if just Ferrari or any other team keeping them honest so they have to stay on their game and not end up running away with 30 seconds or more it will improve the show.
Yup... I thoroughly enjoyed this GP!

Such an epic GP and again I couldn't watch it live , thankfully the medias are so excited here that they're broadcasting extended highlights 24/7
I'm glad that Ferrari is back for real (I was very skeptical and this is only the beginning, but hats off), this Formula 1 deserves this kind of competition. Those Mercedes processions were starting to get very boring.
And Valentino Rossi won too in MotoGP, with Ducati filling the rest of the podium, it's kinda refreshing to be honest to see italian engineers regaining some dignity xD

Well in all honesty it's a bit up and down season so far, I think by the next one it will already be less messy and we'll have a more stable table in Europe. I took the lotus boys because lotus looked improved and normally they are quite consistent... I was hesitant with Maldonado because that guy is always in an incident. (seems to still be true!)
Think the better strategy would be indeed someone who overtakes a lot from the back. FI, Torro Rosso or Sauber guys (just looking at decent points in the long run for filler positions) I did switch Honda with Ferrari before this race Probably will go back later in the year to them. Jenson was supposed to be my consistent overtaker... might be a good choice in 2 or three races.
Sainz, Nasr, Hulk, Verstappen seem to be the less incident prone ones if you look at their driving style. Merhi was also a nice surprise, thought he did well (looking at the style, since the car is nowhere atm )
Yup liking most rookies this year.

This was the first race that I managed to watch (better late than never), not bad!
Some genuinely thrilling final laps because of all the technical problems (and rage issues xD) and some excellent driving skills too. Kimi's and Bottas' performances were especially pleasant, dem Finns.

How I enjoyed Kimi's performance today
When the car suits him he's flying, he has done quite a bit of good performances this year already.
One more team up there and its going to be great fun every race. How Ferrari has surprised me so far... And I'm still reluctant to believe it because of the past years xD

Poor Max
He has so much potential, but the crappy car is holding him back so badly. In the Malaysia race he had some bloody fantastic moves, he's got more balls than most drivers without being reckless :/

Bwah he's not that bad off, everyone has recognized and seen his potential now. He's still at a good place, the big teams will be lining up for him and I'm willing to bet Jos will get him elsewhere than at Red Bull
But yeah when you see his overtaking, finesse and such... he reminds me more of the champs: Alonso,Button,Hamilton,Vettel... Like they said on sky: an old head on young shoulders. Perfectly groomed by mom and dad.

Blargh, Barcelona is boring. More so with the current Aero where it hampers you when you are between a second from the one in front of you.

Haha indeed xD
I managed to watch it in a bar, expecting the most classic train of cars as per tradition, and nearly fell asleep at some point. The pit stops were the highlights of the race

Haha indeed, man they were insane. I think at least two of the pit crews pooped themselves
But seriously, that Alonso one looked like he was going to slam sideways into them.
With the other one... I felt instant man pain xD

Kimi wasn't the only Iceman today
Kudos to him for continuing his job as a magic pitman like nothing happened, balls of steel!

Haha, that was such a good save, we have to give him credit for that. Knowing what Pastor's capable of, the poor Verstappen saw his life flashing before his eyes and no one can blame him xD
Though when the F1 runs out of fails, there's always Ferrari to save the day

There is hardly any F1 discussion here
And if Maldonado is mentioned it's usually only to laugh with his derp moments. He's fast... but reckless. Don't see what politics has to do with it.
(well I know what subject would bring up the politics, but so far I haven't seen it mentioned on the humps)
There are times I wish he was out of F1... but at the same time he brings some life to it.
@Invasor
Yup, think that is his problem. Just not knowing his limits. We've seen it with Grosjean as well, but somehow Pastor seems to not improve on that field. He's proper fast if no one is around him tho.

A lot more than what you'd think, but it's only normal that you wouldn't know
Oh! BTW when I said "here" I meant in my country. Sorry for not being clear enough! |
Well then it makes sense
