Well one of the devs was also asked to throw a number on twitter and he said "42". This would be consistent with most steam releases as 2nd of april is a thursday aswell. In addition PcGamer released a bunch of videos and they mention they are playing the "what is or rather will be the early access build". So just my thoughts 2 cents on it.
Also they have a press beta before actual early access launch. Press embargo ends april 8th so we'll be seeing a lot of footage but not allowed to play
I hate Early Access and ignore nearly every game, but I do believe in Tripwire Interactive. Decisions. I hope other games (GTA5 if not delayed) will keep me busy till Killing Floor 2 is out of EA
Fucking EA again man. It seems every game i am very interested in, gets released first in EA and often never seems to leave it
Is it also known for how long the EA might be?
Seems like that to me too, I mean.. I get it, I understand the allure for smaller devs, EA can bring in a small but steady stream of revenue *during* development, as opposed to afterwards, but egh... it seems like every other game is an EA one nowadays and they all "claim" to be 3-6 months, but that always turns out to be more likely 12 months++
That they are going into EA first and reasons why are known since months, guess since nearly a year. I'll buy it and I'm pretty sure I won't regret it.
-> Dungeon Defenders 2 (will be f2p after release)
The problem is, that fucking game is really high on my wishlist, as i loved the first game. And this one seems even more awesome, looking at the reviews.
But i won't pay for a game that will be f2p at release
I hope that sometime in the future games can secure funding and set budgets without having the need to sell their product ahead of time in order to reach black numbers.
Early Access is Pre-Order, but you're helping the developers test their game, and that's hours you put into an unfinished product. Your help comes in addition to the full price you paid for the game. Win/Win for the developers. Not so much for a gamer.
"Pre-order free 2015" is still in effect for me and that includes Early Access and Kickstarters.
I really urge you all to hold off until we see how this game turns out.
