My favourite was 'Whole lotta Altis' (or WLA) and I voted on it. It's one of the best I've ever played. Anyway. The guy put an insane amount of work into it and I really thought he deserved to win. He didn't. He was a finalist but he never actually won anything. It sucks and we all commented that way, but here's how he's handling it:

He didn't win, okay, but it seems unfair to punish everyone until you get your own way, and to then attempt to get users to bully the judges into doing something he deems worthy. I personally won't bother making any noise, and I think it's a shame that he can't lose gracefully.

Large ego is unfortunately a common issue with modders, just look at some of the drama in the TES modder community.

Wow, what a sore loser. If the voting was legit and the other two weren't artificially inflated, then he needs to suck it up and move on. I'm sure the other guys put in a lot of effort too.

Leaves a bitter taste. I appreciate people like him for doing mods and such, but with an attitude like this he lost my respect.

Same sort of thing happened with Darth of the TW series DarthMod. He stopped modding the games because he was mad that Creative Assembly wouldn't hire him after they had hired another modder.

He'd get more support if he moved on like... you know, being a better person than those he calls justice on.
There are a lot of modders that act like they are the superior power, sadly. Throughout every single moddable game. Just look at the bunch of shitwars in the Minecraft modding community, raging over nothing or trying to enforce 'law' on people that CONTINUED old mods which weren't updated by their original authors.
Modders create great content, but regardless of the popularity of their stuff, acting like a kid seems a popular thing among them.

There are two types of modders I find, those that make mods for themselves and share them with the community, and those that make mods for the prestige.
The 2nd group usually has a very high incidence of egotism and unwarranted self importance. Anyone have the misfortune of remembering Alienslof from the TES modding forums? Fucking hell...

His mod is great, better than Bohemia's SP campaign, but handling the whole thing in such a childish way does more harm than good. What a silly goose.

So very true..I'm starting to believe that in order to be a successful modder, big ego is some sort of requirement, a necessity. Always inevitably leading to the same final result, the flipping of tables and internet bitch slapping xD

Depends on what exactly you're looking for. Are you looking for SP or MP? Are you looking for a complete package where you don't have to do anything yourself? Just load it up and have good dynamic fun?
If it's the formers, well, you propably right, there is nothing better for you.
Personally, I'd almost consider Zeus better. MCC even more so. But that's from a strictly MP ArmA community point of view.
Maybe I'm a bit too harsh.. but that attitude... and did he expect to win against Sa-Matra? SaOk is doing this shit long enough to not being mad getting beaten by Sa-Matra. He could've believed he's gonna beat RHS just as well. Ridiculous.
The other winners though... yeah, I don't agree with many of them either. Some people even straight up cloned other people's work and won with it. So, yeah, fuck the contest. Many oldfags said so right from the getgo... but his hissyfit there is just silly.
