That's exactly how the reviews for a game like this would've been like if not for Kickstarter revitalizing the popularity of the genre.

So all the reviews would be tongue-in-cheek, secretly praising it?

The sad thing is that a lot of people will look at that and take it word for word and not even realize it's satire.

That review makes me want to try it, but I really have no background on this specific genre. Also the game seems to have some sweet music.

Get BG, and BGII and play them. Also I wish I was you.

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

I most certainly will, especially looking to the current gaming landscape of 2015. I went back for system shock 1 and 2 and had an absolute blast, I can do it with these too Very Happy

Just sneakily took advantage of my uni's fast(ish) internet to preload everything, not sure if it's desperation or just hype (since I can't play it until tonight Very Happy). But still! Laughing

Steam said it needed 18GB of space but downloaded 6GB. What does that mean? 18GB unpacked when it's unlocked?

Unity is a combination of shit and sludge.

That said, I do want to play the new Shadowrun Hong Kong game.

Interesting that we in 2015 need to go back in time in order to find likable game design.

I bet they could've made the download size even smaller if they wanted to. Remember that 21GB -> 2GB lossless repack of Wasteland 2? Razz

@h0rnyfavn:
no idea , i guess Unity assets seems to be completely uncompressess for playing or something ike that - just look at Wasteland 2 (24GB to 3GB with just lzma/fast compression ) ,Blackguards 1+2 (both around 18GB compressed to 3GB) and whole lot of others

The bad
  • Lore can be a little overwhelming.
  • Combat will put you down without mercy.
