A friend reports that the extra keys for backers are no longer available. Figured I'd mention it in case someone wanted to get it that way. You can try your luck with Nuuvem.

Sad

My friend got lucky then lol. He managed to get one like 9-10 hours ago. Early Access Beta Key is still available though lol... I guess buying cheap extra copies and selling them was abused much.

Still, I'm not gonna play it today anyway, since it's gonna unlock around the evening for me and I've got something else to do. Tommorow it is then!

How does it compare with Baldur's Gate? Great successor?

100 user votes and positive so far.

You know that if a dev pisses people off they'll downvote, or if a game is broken they'll downvote.

No "website" reviews collected so far.

Baldur's Gate is back, and so are all its flaws: a chaotic mess of action and 'pause-galore'. At least BG had some decent AI, in Pillars of Eternal Disappointment your companions are brain dead. Add a lucklaster story and oh-so many bugs, and your plate of disappointment is served. Enjoy.

Nobody regards PC Gamer anymore beacuse of their Dragon Age 2 review. It is not something humanity can forgive.

So it's even worse than Dragon Age 2.

What a shame.

RPS:

It’s a triumph. A wonderful, enormous and spellbinding RPG, gloriously created in the image of BioWare’s Infinity classics, but distinctly its own. A classic in every sense.

Videogamer:

Pillars of Eternity is modern, while evoking the past. It’s accessible, but satisfyingly complex. Its quality is undeniable, and it’s particularly heartening to see Obsidian, the underdog RPG studio with a string of thrown-bones and rough diamonds behind it, pour its sweat and passion into something they obviously love – and utterly nail it.

Escapist - 5/5

Bottom Line: It's the best new, isometric RPG to come out in years.

Recommendation: While Pillars of Eternity is certainly banking on a nostalgic fan base, it's still an excellent RPG in its own right. It's a game rich with player agency, giving you tons of control to craft your story or explore different solutions to the presented problems. You know, actual roleplaying not simply a game with a leveling and stat system stapled on.

It's fun to see gamejournos pretend they like RPGs again just because a big company made one.

I honestly found the main story to be pretty good, it was just all the side quests, combat and environments that was pure manure.

I honestly believe that DA2 was a great game. Even despite people pointing out its flaws over, and over, and over to me, I distinctly remember enjoying the game from start to finish (even more than DA3).

Reviews are basically useless in this sense. Reviews subjective, and apparently there are games where it is impossible to reach an unanimous agreement on whether they are good or bad or mediocre.

2 more hours. Pillar's getting veiny, it's fundations bursting at the seams. Will it discharge itself of it's marble pebbles and shoot them into eternity before it's due?

Only time will tell...
