You should be able to tell from how it looks with crushed black, or faded graphics.

Sometimes the option is called HDMI Black level, on mine I believe it is that way. Any modern tv should have the option anyway.

Or!

Play on a PC monitor for no input lag, that's what I do Smile

Is there any simple cheap tv without any smart and 3d ?
Just for games and movies on pc and console.
1080p, good blacks, good viewing angles etc.
Dont want to pay for stupid smart and 3d. Just sell a freaking decent panel. 32 inches

set your tv to HDMI HIGH (this is full RGB, LG is just calling it different), set your PS4 HDMI to FULL. done.

@ nightfox
Cant you connect the TV to your PC? Just look at this http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/black.php
You want the background to be black and every square visible.

i dont think there is a tv category for "cheap with no useless clutter". And I dont think there a good cheap TVs anymore, though that heavily depends on your standards. Plasma was pretty good in this category, though for gaming is a bit like gambling. Now they barely exist anymore anyway. Plus you needed to be a bit "compatible" with some of them.
There was a category for "expansive good with fewer clutter" but that seems to be gone now (e.g. a tv with optional speakers, tuner).

What I actually want is big monitors (50"+). "TVs" are by definition full of nonsense and are worse than they could be for no good reason.

Is 32" even in the TV range? That is awefully small. Razz

or a sony bravia w705 with lowest recorded tv input lag of only 13,5 ms Wink
my aiming in destiny on it is definitely improved compared to my last samsung tv.

Like most LED TVs these days, the Bravia W7 dims down its LEDs when asked to display full-screen video black.

Hmm... I'm interested in a new TV for my office. This one seems awesome, but it doesn't look like it's available in the united states? It's there a US equivalent TV like this from Sony?
