OK, so what was the point in arguing over this then?

No boarding mechanic was not mentioned there on the Kickstarter when I pledged my money and it was added as a stretched goal after two weeks. During the whole campaign, there was no mention of it being part of a single player part; in fact, the only streched goal related to the Squadron 42 was the extra mission set which was reached.

Actually boarding and first person were first mentioned 15 years ago when Freelancer was announced. Microsoft said that makes the project too expensive and refused it so Chris Roberts left Digital Anvil. That's the main reason Star Citizen is being created now. It should become what Freelancer was supposed to be.

Just out of curiosity; Could you take us along in your thoughts and tell me where your line grey area is starting and going into black? In other words; What has to go wrong in your opinion for you to define this development anything lower then a 6 on a 0-10 scale?

Star Citizen 1.1 Laughing

So the game is done then? We can play in an open universe with storylines and shit?

What a joke (and arrogance)... should have just named it Dogfighting module 1.1 or something.

It was from 1.1 PTU. PTU is the test-version for the "release" version for arena Commander.

So a alpha before alpha Wink

Right now, if you install the real released Patch 1.1 you are able to do this in freeflight Mode that came with Patch 1.1
There are landing platforms where you can leave your ship. And if you want you can travel/fly away without your ship.

Realism in space sims should only go as far as vehicles, gravity and the fun of it...

silence... no thank you...

you'll end up blown out of your ship in an intense high octane dog fight, your speakers blaring that awful beep beep sound as your ship get pummeled by cannon fire, the sound gets louder and louder as you hear the reverberation of your ship loosing its hull integrity. A bullet pierces through your cockpit and you hear that hiss of your oxygen escaping into space. Panic hits. "Eject. Eject. Eject!", your ship directs as you struggle to find that hotkey to eject. fire breaks out in your cockpit. "Fire! Fire! Eject. Eject." the alarm blares louder and louder and then suddenly "Warning. Missile Lock. Warning. Missile Lock." breaks through the repetitive eject orders. Your ship has been targeted for destruction. You look around. You hope you can escape. The chaos within the cockpit suddenly stops. Complete silence. you found the hotkey. you're in space. complete darkness. complete silence. Nothing for millions of miles. Your enemy flew away laughing as he has left your stranded in space FOR GOD DAMN HOURS UNTIL SOMEONE CARES ENOUGH AND COMES AND FINDS YOU CAUSE YOU WANTED THAT EXTRA LEVEL OF REALISM.

The way you described it, after all that mayhem onboard, the sudden silence of space with your exploding ship in the background would actually seem awesome. Very Happy Razz

i played a game few years ago no ideea which one, and breathing mechanism during snipes was a great adition vs the normal get a b.f.snpier, aim crosshair, zoom, shot and kill in less than 1 second. i really had to work to get kills with one. but beside balancing snipers which are usualy one shot kill, i dont see any use of it.
