People are never happy, when they said expansions will be every year and a half, everyone was like wtf too fast, money grab grumble grumble, when it ends up like every other blizzard deadline 2x estimated time, people are angry again ( too long , grumble grumble)
I think I've read somewhere they're going to recreate everything. But, as with most very ambitious mod projects, the ETA is probably "late 2022 to never".
The StarCraft II Legacy of the Void Beta is on the way, and with only two weeks left until its launch we wanted to take a look at the goals and expectations around the multiplayer beta. As you are likely aware, we’ve been trying to be as open as possible with the status of our development, and strongly believe that the increased cooperation between developers and players is beneficial to StarCraft II. To be clear, our goal for this expansion is to work together with all of you to make Legacy of the Void as awesome as possible.
For this reason, we decided to start the beta sooner than we normally would have in the past. This should provide ample time for feedback and iteration. However, this naturally results in a few things:
Some things at the start of the beta will feel more rough than usual.
We will be missing some units, improvements, features, etc.
The beta will run for a longer period of time than usual.
We will need your play-testing support, as well as the feedback about your experiences in the beta, in order to really work together on this expansion.
Please focus your feedback with these points in mind. We are truly excited to get everyone more involved in the development process.
peaking with IGN, a Blizzard representative explained that Legacy of the Void will offer a nice conclusion, but the universe will persist.
"StarCraft will live on as a universe. We hope to explore some other aspects of the universe, but the storyline that was setup in StarCraft I and continued in StarCraft II will resolve in Legacy of the Void. All of those main characters will reach a nice satisfying conclusion."
Warcraft III Assets
We’ve introduced over three thousand new assets from the Warcraft III Reign of Chaos and The Frozen Throne.
To gain access to these assets, launch the StarCraft II Editor and add the following dependency:
Warcraft III (Data Mod)
File > Dependencies
Click ‘Add Other’
Select the ‘Battle.net’ tab
Click ‘Log In’ and enter your Battle.net account information
Double click on Warcraft III (Data Mod)
Arcade and Custom Game Lobby Changes
Hosts will be able to remove players who have a pending invite.
If a player fails to accept an invite, additional invites from that player will be delayed.
The duration of a pending invite has been dramatically reduced.
WCS Observer Interface
We’ve made several improvements to the WCS Observer Interface
Minerals, Gas, army count, and worker count can now be displayed simultaneously.
Unit wireframes are now displayed for single or group selection.
Information is displayed more consistently, making it easier for tournament organizers to display auxiliary information.
Hot keys have been improved and simplified.
Bug Fixes
Fixed an issue that could allow a player to join a private lobby when they were not friends with the host.
Certain hotkeys in the Wings of Liberty campaign can now be remapped.
Presence information displayed in the Friends List should now display the correct information.
Fixed an issue where certain Nvidia drivers were causing certain textures to appear pink.
Typical use of the middle mouse button should no longer cause the cursor to snap to the center of the screen.
Scumbag Blizzard doesn't offer a discount for LotV if you are existing owner of WoL and HotS, so LotV costs 40 eur anyway, but they do offer a complete pack of all three games for 60 eur
Yeah sometimes I wish they would offer discounts depending on the other person their "loyalty" to the company. Depending on how long certain games been played (as in subscription), how many games been bought, how much been "donated" for all those good purposes etc etc...
Yes they'll lose some money per copy, but most likely sell more copies in the process and thus make up for it.

This is their last non f2p title
of course they want to cash in
The people who'll play Hearthstone, Hots and Titan-recycled in 3 years won't even have seen an SC game in their lives.
If there's one thing I won't defend Blizz for, is how "greedy" they are. But that's just show they have good business people working for them.
The only reason I can justify these price tags are because I hope the profits go back into all their games. At least so far I haven't felt rip off, yet.
But yea, if you don't adore Blizzard games, don't ever fucking buy their shit.
During Activision Blizzard’s financial report today, Legacy of the Void was listed on the Blizzard highlights slide with the comment “expected to be released in 2015″.
That’s not a promise, by any means, but it is a public declaration of what Blizzard is aiming for, and investors won’t be pleased if that changes. Don’t hold your breath, but don’t despair, either.
Legacy of the Void has been in closed beta testing since the end of March, but these things take time.
November 10th. Right, because that's not tactical at all, honest(!)
Why? What is with the date?
Except that it's in 2 FUCKING months. Jesus Christ why does it take them so many eons to put out a goddamn campaign?
Holy fucking shit, they have the budget, it's the same engine they've been working on for like a decade and have released two campaigns already. They must have all the tools available, why is it taking soooooo loooooong?
The series could have concluded two years ago and they could already be working on the next iteration of Starcraft by now ... they fucking killed the franchise. Singleplayer-wise, all these trillions of years they only put out a good campaign and a very mediocre one. That's it. I understand that competitive multiplayer is the main focus but the campaign content is independent from that.
This shit will come out, I will finish it in 2-3 days and ... ?
