Hmm preload for a city building game like this is really not necessary. But again... the key just to activate would be nice.

@SL The messiahs of all city buidling games is waiting for us (tbh we´re waiting for him :/, at least till tomorrow 6 pm)) so no way I start this piece of shite again Very Happy

Actually I didn't bother launching SC5, I tried but ... no go Laughing

I am just watching this KingKongor guy on Twitch with his 385K city messing around.
He just did an amazing city, no grid and outstanding road network Surprised

Got my steam gift via g2play yesterday. Sitting in the library, waiting for release.
Will be at work exactly until launch time but can trigger my D/L via RDP. Weeee... I'm so ready for this after the Sim City 5 let-down. Smile

Was watching Kongors Stream yesterday at about 385k population. This morning he was still streaming at roughly 405k but he was about to go backrupt with a 50% unemployment rate. His city is quite impressive and very snappy considering the game is built on the Unity 3D engine. Smile

Probably, but 37€ for a game is not bad these days compared to like a Battlefield or Sim City 5 on rls date.

Really looking forward to this game. Have been trying out SC again the past few days to keep my hunger for Skylines at bay....but it is such a dissapointment of a game. I feel you can do so much more on one Skylines tile compared to one on SC! Even though they are supposed to be the same size.

One thing I thought was really cool is the fact that the people are really all there and have their own proper lives. They can actually go from work to home etc and actually change bus/trains on the way to reach their destination. Would never happen in SC. Also makes creating buslines etc much more interesting! But is it possible to see all the lines (to see for example high/low usage) or even rename them?

But I've been watching some videos of quill's city building and I was thinking about the abandoned buildings. In SC you had to (I belive anyway) demolish them so people could rebuild on that spot. But I just think I noticed now that those abandoned marks can actually go away in Skylines. So does this mean new owners come into these buildings and you don't need to demolish them?

I can't be 100% sure since I judge it on the things I saw on streams... but it looked to me that people can move into abandoned buildings when you solve the problems to that area.

Even saw once: he demolished an abandoned building and they rebuild on it right away which would again get abandoned due to the area still not being satisfying. Razz

Yep, that is true, ppl do move back, but it is easier and faster just to demolish buildings.

This actually happens in SimCity too.

I've noticed my abandoned buildings getting new inhabitants (sloooooowly, like... an hour or something)
Rubble has to be cleared manually always.
