As long as they keep releasing their games on PC, they can sell it on as much platforms as they want. More moniez for their next project.

Well said.
Having owned PC's and consoles for longer than some of you have been on this earth, I've never got this "console peasants" thing, or why it would grieve some people if a PC game gets released on console.
Weird.

I think people have the understandable concern of another franchise being dumbed down for consoles, though I don't think this is too likely with Wasteland.
I think the game/series will always sell better on PC, so InXile will probably keep their PC focus intact.

I'm cautiously optimistic this will make it even better. Might even earn a rare second playthrough by me (once I finish the first one).

Of course, that’s all great, but how does it play? In this new edition, we’re beefing up our existing gameplay and adding some new features. You’ll be able to customize your squad even more with our new Perks and Quirks (traits) to add unique bonuses and characteristics. Our new Precision Strike (aimed shots) system will let you target individual body parts to cripple or stun enemies, or shatter their armor so you can mop them up, giving you even more options in combat....

The character creation in this game is lackluster and that's me being generous. It completely sucked balls.

A couple of low-res images that I think shows of the "GOTY" edition and it's Unity 5 engine.
(The improved character customization and general lighting improvements are pretty easy to see though.) |
Looks exactly the same to me. The GOTY trailer was just recycled footage from the launch trailer so I don't think they're ready to show their improved visuals yet.
-Edit or maybe not. After looking at the trailers side by side the GOTY looks slightly better.

Well, considering that Wasteland 2 is already out on PC, I don't really see how it can be retroactively dumbed-down after the fact by a future console release, barring any time-travel scenarios that I'm not aware of.
Or do you mean that people are concerned that any future new games in the franchise might be dumbed-down by being designed as multi-platform from the start? Because if that's the case then I'm really not concerned about that either, because at the going rate Wasteland 3 won't be coming into the picture until around 2040, so who know's what things will be like by then? |
The latter. Although as I stated, I don't think this is very likely.

Don't know about the balls, but you can target body parts.

And you’ll need those options, because we’ve been hard at work hand-crafting each battle you’ll find yourself in. |

The grass needs some sort of randomization properties on it that for example scales it (size and density perhaps.) so it doesn't look like it's a single model being repeatedly placed in obvious patterns or how to say.

I'm sure the PC version will include Unity 5, unless they want PC players to feel betrayed and result in none of their future Kickstarters succeeding.

I'd be surprised if they do that, probably just bad wording. But then again, there has been a lot of disappointing behaviour from devs the last few months.

The prize for best behaviour goes to Harebrained Schemes. They've upgraded free of charge Shadowrun Dragonfall to the Director's Cut .

I am glad I never bought this yet. That upgrade should have been free for owners of the original.

Whoa, hold up... don't take my sarcasm as gospel. As of RIGHT NOW there is no information about cost or charging existing customers for Wasteland 2 GOTY. My post about "Year One" is a mocking one about State of Decay, which is now abandoned and existing customers are forced to spend $20 on their own special "Year One Edition" I don't know if InXile will charge existing owners for GOTY, they better fucking not, but you never know these days. We're just waiting on info at the moment

I would be really surprised to see them charge this to existing owners.

I would have been extremely disappointed if they had made people pay for the upgrade.
Still, excellent news.
