"you really need to dodge at the right time"... he says... then he keeps block to make himself invulnerable, followed by attack button mashing = WIN.
"we are PC fans, look how shiny the console buttons look in our game!"
"Geralt uses witcher's senses to be able to SEE MONSTERS THROUGH WALLS and HILLS" ...
I really REALLY hope some indie developer comes and take the psuedo-modern-RPG-creators "crown" from these sellouts...
Yes, so far I am very VERY disappointed.
EDIT
And those fucktard "journos": "oh that's amazing, oh huge world, look at the leaves, what a biutiful gaem!"

I like it. I assume some of the HUD elements can be disabled.

I would take it to mean that you took the words (or derp icon) right out his mouth. He was going to make the same reply but you beat him to it.

I loved the combat in both games. And since I played the second game right when it came out, it was really difficult in the beginning, which, once mastered was really satisfying. (imo)
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

When someone quotes the famous: "And without even playing it you react like this?"... that's a sign that we see things extremely different or you are incredibly naive. Therefore an argument over the certain subject is pointless.
Still, for the sake of respect and social interaction that you so much crave for: we've seen way too much times before little details in gaming trailers/videos that raised suspicions and made us worried about the outcome of a certain project/game.
This - The Witcher 3 - is/seems another similar case. It's consolized (look at UI again), it has pathetic performance, it has wallhack mechanics, there's bullshit talk about game settings and technical unclear differences between PC and consoles.
The latest linked here video showed NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING NEW, yet the presenter (who also plays the game) boasts about some "clever"/strategic combat system when all he does - in GOD mode! - block and mash attack to defeat his enemies, while some idiot reporter drools all over the shit, like a programmed machine that just had it's latest version of praise-it-blindly software...

TW1 was a lot of fun. Rhythmic mouse clicking
1 and 2 are still amazing.

I liked TW2 combat to be honest. The real problem that killed it wasn't the mechanics themselves but how ridiculously OP some of the signs were. They promised they balanced them better in TW3, I'm curious to see if it's true.

Even without signs you got stupid strong in TW2 towards the end of act 1. With the right talents and traits you could get approx 60% passive damage reduction without even factoring in armour.
You didn't even need to dodge/parry attacks once you reached that point.

I remember a time when wallhacking was considered cheating...

Yea in competitive FPS it is. Where wall hacking destroys tactics and give a clear unfair advantage. But in an open world RPG?! What some bandit was going to hide behind the corners and because I can sense him, the game is ruin? Maybe if this was Dark Souls, sure. Except it's not.

Blacklight Retribution did "wallhack" in a cool and fair way. It doesn't have to be bad. At the same time, I think it has to fit into the game's world and not be a dumb vision that goes through walls just for the sake of it being there.

Haha, yeah this is very true.. it was so noticeable, probably my only complaint about the game which I still loved despite a few strange design decisions.
I was secretly hoping that CD could finally implement a proper and rewarding stamina bar in this one, but alas it's only for dashing/blocking and magic. That would be the only way to make combat both tactical and satisfying, in a Dark Soul-ish/Severance way, which would be amazing imo (we already have dismemberment and physics-based signs, it would be the cherry on top of the cake).
