Indeed it is. I don't know who they are listening to when they put these stupid things into the game but it certainly is not the people who have been playing the series since 2001, I can tell you.
And when one posts on the BIS forum protesting against these new features, one gets shouted down by the resident stepford wives there. Never in my life have I seen that level of blinkered fanboys in one place. Dangerous concentrations of fanboyism

Wait.
What is this sway you are talking about ?
I thought it was the one after sprinting for a while which is intended.
But if it sway when you were steady and prone it shouldn't do it, unless you move too much and need to move your body/shoulders in which case again it would be intended.
(switch to 3rd person view to check what your avatar is doing, roll, move, ...)

The swaying on aiming weapons is not true to life sorry... BiS seem to think they want a mill sim but because its a game they want to add retarded sway on sight aiming.
Even when one has been running a while with adren running and getting into cover, when you aim with a weapon under pressure your arms alone, with the adrenalin, control most aspects of sway. Its involuntary to your thoughts, you auto adjust in heat of the moment and get quick small accurate bursts off down sight.
It goes for those who have been shot but not maimed (non lethal) also, adrenalin kicks in and they can pull off some dead on shooting.
Now running and aiming is a different matter, most would never do that so then its feasable to have it sway like a bitch on the move.
But in Arma of late you run 20ft and you sound like you are a heavy 30yr smoker with no fitness.

A shame that ARMA never seems to get the recognition for amazing it actually looks. I kind of blame the arma 3 map though, that mediterranean thing just doesn't cut it atmosphere wise. They should go for good old chernarus or better vietnamese jungles...

I can't change stance with CTRL+^, my in game menu keeps freezing, I get stuck in camera/arsenal mode etc
I thought it was my PC, but the exact same issues occur on my other PC too |
Sadly, an error related to adjusted stance key bindings has snuck into update 1.40. We had separated the single control for adjusting your stance (LCtrl in Arma 3's preset) into 4 separate controls. The new controls allow greater flexibility in configuring your stance adjustments up, down, left and right. The defaults should all remain the same (LCtrl + W A S D). During final preparation of 1.40, the engine and data parts of this change were incorrectly distributed.

Looks like they broke something on the last patch.
