... I have a game in my head, but I really remember very little about it. It was a 3rd person i think shooting game (might have been 1st person but I think that's unlikely). I don't remember much, except for it was set in a city where you climb up high. The main protagonist was a girl, and I think she was running from the cops but I may be wrong. I have this vague memory that the title of the game, or the lead girl, may have been asian or something.

I thought it might rise of triad or something like that, but having looked at the gaemplay I think my game was newer. I think it was run from Windows, not DOS and the graphics were a little better. I still think the name had some kind of asian / triad or something element to it.

Probably late 90s.... any ideas?

Should be Oni, but it's not late 90's. I think it was released around 2001.

You're right. There were buildings though with corridors, large rooms and staircases to the roof of the buildings.
I would like to see a Oni reboot.

Except in Urban Chaos, the girl was not running from the cops, she was a cop herself.

yeah it did contain a lot of rooftop action, and the final mission was pretty much platforming on rooftops.

Urban Chaos, the lead lady being a cop. The climbing thing was mainly done for power-ups.

And that's one game that i'd love to see remastered.

Meh, never liked that game. I did buy it on GOG hoping I'd get into it but it was even worse than I remembered.

Here's the review I put on GOG:

Quote:
Many mention GTA III when mentioning this game and while I admit there's many similarities but there's also a reason why GTA is now a world famous name and Urban Chaos a forgotten one.
Graphically, Urban Chaos looks horrible for a 1999 game. I mean, Quake III Arena was released this year. The fact that it was made for the very aging Playstation 1 says it all. The PC release was a joke, too. Without a gamepad it was practically unplayable - the camera was terrible and there was no mouse support. The car handling is frustration and annoying: your car will stop responding for no reason and take seconds to respond again, sliding around corners is impossible since it's like your tires are glued to the ground, etc. etc. In general, the game responds badly - controls are very sloppy and it can get very frustrating when the game doesn't do what you want it to do. You also have to be in the exact spot for the game to do what you want - there's almost zero margin.
Summed up, it's a third rate GTA game without the charisma, the brilliant music and great setting. I mean, the game got slammed in the press for the negatives above so why ignore them now? Since then we've been treated to half a dozen games much better than this.
