A patch is now available via UPlay and probably Steam too.

PC specific fixes:

Quote:

################################################################################
Ubisoft Entertainment
Assassin's Creed® Unity v1.5.0
################################################################################
DLC outfits and weapons issues fixed
Fixed various Uplay Actions issues
Fixed minor Uplay Achievements issues
Minor render fixes
Minor UI fixes
Performance improvements
Nvidia SLI flickering fixed

(The other fixes were linked to earlier I believe.)

Only a couple of MB, all patched files (From previous updates too.) do change to the current date however so I am not sure which files exactly where updated besides the game exe and manifest file.
(Manifest file is exclusive to UPlay so it would be the game exe, perhaps the DataPC_patch_01.forge file and possibly the GDF.dll file which is for setting up firewall permissions and Windows Game Explorer functionality or what that feature is called.)

Tried the patch, performence is about the same, fps might be higher, but i can never get this to stay at 60, its drops multiple times, especialy when turning corners and streets, it stutters and the frames drop, i dont think i will play this game in this state, dont know how you guys are handling it, but these stutters are a no go for me..

Has anyone noticed the lack of colliding with people while jumping around?

I don't remember this happening a few patches back but trying the latest patch I just seem to go straight through people unless I'm running/walking normally.

The 5-second freezes seem to be gone. Still can't say about stutters until I've played long enough and on many separate sessions.

It's time to turn off the whole AC series too.

After 4 consecutive hours playing I can now say that this patch finally did it for me Very Happy I couldn't play before today without a stutterfest randomly starting, sometimes after a cutscene, sometimes just randomly, even on simple High settings with FXAA. I mean, I've been willing to play this game @30fps considering my ancient hardware, what I just can't stand is intertimittent stutter, like every 3 seconds or something, it's just too annoying and immersion breaking.

Well, now after the patch I'm able to set both Textures and Evironment to "Ultra", using HBAO+, but leaving shadows @ High + FXAA and I'm getting nearly constant 30 fps (decided to cap them for stability) with occasional dips to 24. And the f...ing game just looks A.m.a.z.i.n.g. I've found myself dropping my jaw several times during this 4-hour session. I hadn't seen the outdoor lighting at noon time or the interior lighting inside some big buildings yet since release (I was always testing right before the Sivert assassination mission without completing it), and this quality of lighting is just something I hadn't experienced before. So even with all the fiasco, awful problems with performance and the deserved bashing Ubisoft got from it I have to give them that they have achieved some both technically and artistically impressive visuals here.

Anyways, I'm just happy I can finally play this. It seems the wait has been worth it Smile

That's really weird, pop-ins seem even less than after the previous patch, from this 4-hour session I only remember about one having caught my attention (3 people appearing from nowhere like 20 mts in front of my character) and like said, absolutely no more mini freezes (not a single one) and the annoying stuttering is virtually gone.

Playing exclusively @1080p though, with the settings I mentioned and capped @30fps.

And a shitty port it will never cease to be no matter what future patches might do Razz

I shouldn't have to settle for 30 when I had it going at 60 before they patched anything

I agree. Ever since release, I never got close to 40fps with any settings with my hardware (part of why it's indeed a shitty port). So stable 30 fps for me now with high quality settings feels like christmas in paradise Twisted Evil
