Also are there locks that cannot be picked without additional lockpicking skills? I've played the game for around 10 hours so far and rarely had issues picking locks including the 'very hard' rated locks. However I came across this Police van in an area next to a gas station safehouse and as you can see from my video I wasted 11 minutes and 72 lockpicks on the fucker! That is the equivalent of half a day in Dying Light lol. Im pretty sure I found the sweet spot but it just wouldn't open. The 12th lockpick seemed to glitch I noticed. Might try that one again when I've restocked on lockpicks lol.

I had this problem three times already. It's a glitch with the sweet spot being between the sensitivity steps of the Dualshock. They should've implemented some kind of 'autoaim' so that you'd hit the spot if you are pixels close to it, but lazy kurwas forgot about it probably
Today I didn't even need to use my AK. I gotta say it was a good day. (c) - Ice Cube
Dying Light's latest patch removed a popular weapon-duplicating exploit, but don't worry: there's already a workaround. It only took players like Reddit's BillSavage a few hours to find a new way to break the game's loot system wide open.
In the "No weapons, fists & kicks only playthrough" that was completed just yesterday, the player walks (and often runs) us through the game's entire single-player campaign without ever picking up one of Dying Light's many colourful melee weapons. Or any weapons, really. No flaming hammers. No electrified baseball bats. No makeshift grenades or stray assault rifles. Just punches. Lots and lots and lots of punches. Oh, and kicks too!
I dont have the PC version so I cant disable the HUD but I already have autoaim turned off. I hate that. Turn it off in all games
Quote:
Turn Off Hints
Dying Light defaults to giving protagonist Kyle Crane a heightened awareness ability known as "survivor sense" that highlights choice enemies in addition to nearby hard-to-find objectives and items. Disabling hints in the "Game" options menu eliminates on-screen notifications for things like loot and entrances (or exits) to buildings. This forces you to comb through your surroundings in search of something, anything, that might help you.
Disable Auto-Aim
The only way to deal proper damage to bad guys in Dying Light is by hitting them in the head. Or, before that: knocking out their legs so you can bop them in the noggin. Turning off auto-aim for melee and ranged weapons makes landing precise hits very tricky, which helps bring out that feeling of desperation that strikes you whenever a hideous monster lunges toward you.
If You're On PC, Disable The HUD
One of the most popular mods that's popped up for PC players turns off all on-screen notifications. That means: no sense of your weapon's current state of disrepair, no on-screen ammo counter, and no mini-map. That last tweak is the most sinister, since the mini-map is the only way you can keep track of the location and vision-cones of night-time super-zombies like Volatiles. Going outside without it means you have to rely on your senses, and your torch, alone. Good luck.
Only Use What You Can Find
Shops in Harran are the best place to find high-level weapons, medkits, and weapon-crafting ingredients. If you don't make use of the merchants, you'll have to rely entirely on the weapons you can scrounge up and make for yourself. Believe me: there is nothing more unsettling in this game than finding yourself stuck somewhere far away from the nearest safe-zone and realizing every single weapon in your inventory is broken.
Limit How Many Of These Items You Can Carry
Dying Light lets you carry an abundance of three items that always come in handy:
Firecrackers: useful for distracting zombies, blowing up boomers, and starting fires.
Lockpicks: you need these to get the best loot.
Medkits: healing yourself.
If you limit yourself to carrying only ten firecrackers or lockpicks at any given time, it helps make the game feel much more realistic—i.e., scary. Because really: how does Crane stuff 100 firecrackers into his pockets?
Don't Use Molotovs, Guns, Or Grenades
Dying Light's firearms and tossable weapons allow you to execute one-hit kills against all but the most powerful enemies in the game, and do so from a safe distance. Going cold turkey on them leaves you with melee attacks, which places you at greater risk whenever you choose to enter into combat with the undead.
Or Just Don't Use Any Weapons At All
At least one person already managed to beat Dying Light using only punching and kicking attacks, so we know that it's doable! It just takes a lot of patience. And a lot of dodging.
Never Go To Sleep
Night-time is the hardest part of Dying Light, but it's also the one that's easiest to avoid since very few missions require you to venture outside of a safe zone after dark. One player on Reddit therefore suggested a "bloodshot run" to force you out into the night more often. If you want to make it even more difficult, you can also opt out of capturing optional safe houses. That leaves you with an intimidatingly small number of places to escape to when Volatiles start chasing after you. Just typing that last sentence made me scared.
Don't Upgrade Your Skills Past Level 5
Crane's most powerful abilities are located at the upper-most levels of each of his three skill trees. Similar to leaving out guns or molotovs, cutting off things like the head-stomp make it much more difficult to execute one-hit kills. Leaving out the grappling hook, meanwhile, keeps Crane's parkour moves a bit more...down to earth, since he can't zip around Harran like a would-be Spider-Man.
Game is really great , I don't understand some low scores.. 8.0-8-5 from me..
Agree, in my book its 8/10 at least. Its a huge improvement over the dead island games no matter how you see it. The only downside would be that there are no cars... its replaced by parkour
Cuisine & Cargo - February 11th) – Available exclusively as a part of the Season Pass offer, these two hardcore missions let players investigate buildings sealed off in the very first days of the outbreak. Explore the ominous corridors of once the most famous restaurant in Harran, and employ both stealth and combat to ransack a zombie-filled loading bay at the abandoned railroad yard.
Check out this reflection I found in a building?! lol
And I found an easter egg! Quite proud of this one!
Loving this game. The dialogue is sometime cheesy and dumb but the game is such a joy to play. Im about 92% complete on the story and there have been some pretty cool mission towards the end. I have a fuck ton of sidequests to do though
Just finished the single player game! Put 42 hours into it so far. Im not done though. Got loads of side quests to finish!
There were some odd things I noticed like time not progressing in some missions and its quite an annoying trek through the sewers to get to Old Town but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I think I must have lost a litre of sweat through my palms in that last 8% of the game!
Spoiler:
What I dont get is from the start of the game when Crane is bitten he keeps having these episodes and I thought he might have turned by the end of the game or something but then if that happened it would probably make it awkward for the player to return to the tower and continue playing on.
It doesnt deserve anything less than 8/10 in my opinion.
We were playing in co-op 4 of us every evening till 2nd part and then one of the players had a kid born and he's all busy now and the team is kinda broken and I can't force myself to continue alone because it was so much fun together. Such a shame
