Ok, my PIV3.0/1gig ram/X1600pro256mb rig is crappy but it's way above the min specs, right? Still the game is just a friggin slideshow @800x600... I heard that you should turn AA off to make it run significantly faster but I can't seem to be able to do it. When I turn AA off the game says I need to restart, and when I do, the AA is back on! Any ideas? |
My specs ain't much different to yours except I got an nVidia card and it runs just fine. ATi = troublesome crap in my experience.
Crapy game BTW.

Ok, please call me crazy but I'm havin' a blast with this game. I enjoy it way more than all of the bullshit that came out in the last 10 years. Especially the mediocre Alan Wake 2 and Hellblade 2. They don't make games like this anymore. It's completely political incorrect, racist, anti-gay, anti-feminism and I fucking love it.
Did anyone play it lately with the Remastered project mod which adds almost 4 GB of new textures and the Fusion Fix which adds proper Xinput support? I Love it! And to be honest, it looks pretty good to me in 4K with 8x AA and 16x AF! Well, I guess I'm just too old-school...

Has this been re-released modernized anywhere (GOG or the like)? Or is the RLD release from way back then still the only way to go with mods to fix it up?

Yes it is. Well, actually I have used Scarface.The.World.is.Yours.MULTi7-ElAmigos plus the two mods:

(You don't need this if you don't want to use a controller. And if you do want to use a controller never ever go to the control settings and never change any button. The controls will become unusable for some strange reason. Inverting Y-axis only is fine, though.)

turns out it was a scam using the recent fix up pack modders made that makes it playable on pc, it's about to be removed from steam
the game is currently abandonware so, if you want to play it fixed up amongst other abandoned games it's on rohankar archive
