The Bureau: XCOM Declassified springs to mind. Gets awfully repetitive but I liked the atmosphere.

Godfather/Mafia games/L.A. Noire? Not really comicy/Scifi I guess

						Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead

Theres everything from bionics to mutations. Like in comic books gamma radiation causes mutations.

Of enemies and npc's theres everything from soldiers of fortune to terminators or invaders from R'lyeh.

It all takes place during a zombie apocalypse, the world is completely randomized. Yes it's a roguelike, but if you play your character well you don't die.

Here's a combat log from my current Flunked martial artist student - who really only started studying after the world ended.

This was after entering a basement, on the look out for weapons, happened upon this zombie brute in the darkness. Zombie brutes are human steroid addicts turned zombie.

My character is a lightweight, but has been studying different forms of martial arts. So this was no small feat. Theres Zombie Hulks as well, which are just like The Hulk, only in Zombie form - yes they can throw cars after you.

Eventually you can become a superman like character, or a tentacled monster from beyond.

Or even a Cyborg that can teleport through walls or seemingly stop time like the Shrike in Hyperion.

With the Mshock32 tileset it looks like this

Please don't let the 2d graphics discourage you, it really is the best and most in depth game of this kind in a long time.

Whats the name again of that game that looked like Bioshock but with a 50s sci-fi setting? Like with big eye aliens and bubbly zap guns???

All those recommending Destroy All Humans, did you play it on your PC? Is it available on emulators? I always wanted to try that game out, but never had a PS2.

Dunno, I own it on the PS3 (I actually assumed it was available on the PC ).

Should work with a PS2 emu if you don't mind playing that version.
