Yeah...been there. I mean, i didn't play as much as you but i managed to become a cannibal due to food shortage.
The game is weird, but it's a good weird. I played for some time and now i'm waiting for the release to get to it properly.

Certainly the game is original and it is fun. At first it was hard for me to go to "x" as i didn't have clue where that is. After a while of exploring it got a bit easier.

That Russian CounterStrike forum has one You Suspicious Be (I just started it, and seems to be working fine)

I've stayed away from the game till now, because I'm quite allergic to Early Access these days, but the concept looks really interesting.

I bought this on an impulse today, more or less after hearing all the raving about it....boy do I regret it.

This is basically a browser based game (it uses the same inventory/token/stat system from Dragon Age's The Last Court, everything is just obviously labeled differently) except with real-time combat/exploration.

The writing, while suitably dark, is mostly gibberish for those not familiar with the source material (aka their browser based game).

The music is beautiful, but there's not much of it.

The combat is incredibly basic. Turn and click.

The gameplay itself, well, it belongs in Firefox, not an executable!

Ah well, lesson learned I suppose.

@Immunity

ALWAYS try games out yourself. Tastes differ immensely, only time I would jump on a game without trying is when there's a great deal.
Hell that's how I select which 'demo's' to download, look whom is saying it's a great game and then try it out.

I really like this game; just exploring and interacting with different items and harbours

It is hard to get fuel I'm finding that I spend all my money in game on fuel.
Runs great on my work laptop and can't wait to get back to it

two words

port reports

also, more than two words

london isn't the cheapest place to get fuel Smile

MY problem is hull space. im finding i have to DUMP fuel... sometimes even supplies, because i have too many Sad

also im kinda lax in keeping my eye on the terror bar... so... so many crew executions for insanity... Sad

game really needs a london-based storage warehouse where i can leave stuff (since i dont want to turn them into heirlooms)

not that it would help since anything worth killing has more than double your hull Mad

rgb told me in another thread that's bullshit and you would never buy the game anyway (he was talking about me in that thread).

So I'm calling bullshit on you

Finally had some time to play, I'm finding the game good..ish. Razz I wouldn't say outstanding, or anything out of the ordinary, it's a pretty unique roguelike with focus on exploration, resource managing, sophisticated dialogues/writing and occasional combat system.
The best aspect is hands down the atmosphere in my opinion, grim as hell and very intriguing. I'm not really liking the combat system because it's a bit too simplistic (options to attack are limited to shooting/shooting early :<) but I imagine it gets better once you unlock more good stuff later on.

The fact that it's much much slower if compared to FTL or similar games can be both a good thing and a bad thing, depending on the level of patience (i.e. trying to progress requires a lot of time, and a random death can fuck everything up, as per permadeath tradition Very Happy Laughing). I can also see that repetitiveness might be an issue in the long run, but this is more like a problem with the whole genre that requires to constantly restart and improve.

Yep, 9 in Palmerston. I usually visit this port on the way or on the way back.

I see you keep pounding the game. It's funny to turn on the pc, fire up sunless sea and have a pop that you are playing it as well two times (crashing? Very Happy ).

Anyway, i made a shitload of money with the reports and finishing some port events (judging by gaining the colors for the tomb-colony). I managed to get a good gun for the deck and a much better engine. I maybe should have bought the corvette first (6000 echoes) as i have the problem with full hold just like Chiv. I almost managed to later on but it happened that i have a kid at the port and didn't want him to live on the street or not to acknowledge him as my son. So i bought a house and am in the process of making echoes for a new ship.

Whatcha cruising these days, Chiv? I still have the first ship. One time i had to dump fuel to make room. I cried. Oh and did you proceed with working with the Blind Bruiser? I only smuggled souls the first time and later on didn't have the money to purchase more and bring them back so i fucked him over Very Happy

and yeah im still doin mah thing with the blind guy. still have him around, hes good for an easy 200 bucks every now and then Very Happy

at teh moment im still trying to visit the entire map so i know where everything is... then i wanna set up a spy network Twisted Evil
