It's not like you can get a general idea (or advice) of such an enormous country. It's really different depending on where you go so you really have to be a lot more specific than saying "Brazil".
Very few people there speaks english, that's one advice i can give you, some portuguese will really help.

Doubt i ever would want go there, seen to much crazy shit on liveleak and all. just doesnt feel like a safe and fun country really..

Its very safe if you go to the right places.
Some info really advised about the places you want to know.
Universal law nowadays almost everywhere.

Meh. I've been to places there with extremely high crime rate (costal area with lots of drugs coming in), still didn't see a single shooting or witnessed any crime.

I want to know what's the best way to get around? Car rentals? small plane? Because I heard public transportation is subject to riots and has pickpockets and shit like that.
