The same can be said for the retards screaming blizzard cocksuckers and fanboys about anything positive about the game including reviews they don't agree with.

I haven't finished the SP yet but I'd give it a 8/8.5 so far.

This. Just like no Halo game will get a low score, nor will a CoD game.

hmm lets see, decent campaign with good variety in mission types, achievements, challanges, some decision making between missions, great presentation and music, mindblowing cinematics, option to download full game for free in case your cd got broken or smth, bnet support for free, amazing map editor (custom maps will blown us away) in which you can make almost any type of games, multiplayer that people will be playing for years to come (large map pool, 1/2, 2/2, 3/3, 4/4 modes), good ladder system, constant balance/bugs tweaking by patches released for years.

yeah, 8/10 at best, lol. also lots like halo (wtf) and cod (new game every year lolol). i know that every large company which is actually making money (gonna hate them, they make moneeeyyzz!!!2312) its bashed imidiately but geez, as i dont like the way they went with bnet (no chatrooms yet, facebook bullshit) you just cant deny the fact that blizz games are polished as fuck and supported for years. thats why they are one of the biggest company in gaming business with basically only 3 franchises (sc, wc, d3) and releasing sequels after 10 years, lol.

When did I compare the game to Halo and CoD? Or say that it wasn't polished?

I'm simply saying that regardless of how good or not the game is, it will get excellent scores just cause it's Blizzard. Just how Halo gets good scores cause it's Halo, and CoD gets good scores cause it's CoD.

Yah, all this Blizzard hype is just ridiculous. Especially since they haven't really done anything in the last ten years to deserve it. They made four superb games in Diablo1&2, Warcraft 2 and Starcraft, but except for those they've not made anything special. And that's what SC2 is too; nothing special. Highly polished for sure, and so are all their games, but that alone doesn't warrant the sort of reaction this is getting. I doubt you'll get an honest review/opinion of the game before another 2-3 years have passed and the hype has died down.

Heck, at this point Blizzard could remake Tetris and still get 10/10 reviews.

I never was much into starcraft, but ill try this.

What i cant shake is the feeling i have since the first that the franchise started as a clone of WH4K. I mean the bulk armours=space marines, the zerg=tyranid clones (even the overmind was from the nid), protoss=eldar... Rolling Eyes

no matter what people say.. anyone who buys the game will get infinite ours of hours in multiplayer... playing normal matches against others or play custom fan made maps.. if it was what it was with starcraft and warcraft 3.. i cant imagine what we will get with sc2.

i agree with sabin about dow 2 being good but dont think it was that good.. nice story.. but missions were a bit boring.. but overalll dow2 can never provide what sc2 will.. thats the diference of starcraft 2 and all other strategy games.

so i guess the hype over this games are well desearved but ofcourse not for everyome taste.. Razz

Huh? It's pretty obvious Blizzard ripped off, or were atleast quite heavily inspired by WH40K.

I'm sort of enjoying this, but strangely enough it's not the normal gameplay which was so good in SC thanks to having three entirely different races. It's the side/special missions and cinemetics that I find most amusing :/

As far as "polish" goes: the engine isn't actually that impressive, graphically speaking. Can't say I think this looks better than DoW2 or good old CoH (the only RTS's I've played in the past few years Razz). Obviously the styling is great, but that's what Blizzard do. From a technical and objective point of view however, I can't help looking at this as a minor title. And I'm not even referring to the obvious lack of support for AA, it's more how the engine likes to hog whatever CPU resources you have available. Apart from that, there isn't *that* much detail in the units or the terrain, shadows look fine but not great, and so on. And yes, I'm running this with everything maxed out on 1920x1080.

Fine title, but them taking out the proper Protoss/Zerg campains just so they can milk it more like WoW is bloody gay. Would've been fine if it had anything revolutionary, but it simply doesn't. It's a good refresh of the old game, not the castrated title I would expect after such a development cycle.

Oh, and @ remyleblau: polished? I'm sure that's why WoW had so many glitches early on, which were all known during beta but not fixed because they wanted to get it out. And that went on for TBC as well; not sure after that because I quit by then due to them making the game piss easy, leaving me and my guild with nothing left to do but PvP - if the lag allowed us to do so.

so thats a minus in enjoying a game ? i dont really care if it was ripped off as long as it is good... armies of exigo were a perfect clone of warcraft 3 and i enjoyed alot!

Yeah, because Blizzard came before Games Workshop... honest. Yep, you're right! Blizzard is not only older than Games Workshop, but they even designed WH and WH40k for them! For free! Then they went on to make Lost Vikings instead.

Hey guys I've been meaning to ask this...
I'm an RPG/FPS/TPS?Adventure gamer and have never played the RTS genre. Would this game appeal to me? One thing which interests me the most in any game is the storyline....
and what exactly is the gameplay like? Is this a mouse only thing or can we control the player with our keyboard (wasd) ?

Thanks

The storyline is really good, I'm enjoying it immensely, and the game basically consists of;

1. Build a base.
2. Train a million units.
3. Send units to destroy enemy.
4. Accomplish bonus objectives (generally destroy more enemies or collect "relics" dotted about the map)
5. Spend your cash earned from missions on upgrades and earn new units. Spend your research points, from relics, on more upgrades.
6. Rinse, repeat.

It's primarily mouse control (no WSAD) but you can - and should for efficiency - use keyboard for command/unit shortcuts.. etc.

I've never seen a bad game from blizzard, i've bought pretty much every game they've put out and enjoyed them all so far to the max. They always offer quality, even if a game like SC2 is overhyped due to the mass success of the first that doesn't take away from it being an amazing rts game thats an absolute joy for any SC fan to play through.

I love blizz and everything they do for PC gaming... this might make me a fanboy and it might make you think less of me but in the end do I give a fuck? no I don't. I'll be happy with my SC2, you be happy being jaded at a company that strives to keep PC gaming alive.

Sorry, but that last bit is just not true. Not at all.

Blizzard is hardly trying to keep PC gaming alive. They charge extra, just cause they can. They region-lock the game (into 7 different regions, none the less. Some are even just 1 country.). Put quite extreme limitations on the map editor.

And so on.

Quality? What is quality for you? Polish and optimization? That is only half of what I'd consider quality, with the other being good gameplay. So where is the quality exactly in SC2 for you? Is it because it looks good and runs well = instant quality?

I'm not going to go indepth with somebody who quite clearly has a grudge against blizzard or against the game its self, haha. I think the majority of people will agree with me when I say this game is above 90% of rts games released.

I guess you can't please everybody though, enjoy whatever the fuck it is you like.

ps implying SC gameplay is lacking is the most hilarious thing i've read in a long time.

I enjoy the campaign. (aside some very boring and tedious missions..)

The secret mission was incredible. As if i played alien swarm Laughing
I love the assets the game has used - various objects, terminals, pipes, critters, npcs, civilian traffic, hero and special units. Can't wait for some great mods made with the editor.

Im near the end, on hard - and i don't think i gonna need nothing aside my fully upgraded battlecruisers + their mercenary + science vessels

If only DOW 2 has those assets and modding potentinal..

Didn't have one for WC3 which I enjoyed very much, and while WoW is not my cup of tea, I still think the world they have created is amazing.
I do have a grudge against greedy bastards that release a 90s game with updated graphics in 2010 and everyone is . Even WC3 was better than this.

Every fucking WC game is the same, every Diablo game is the same...

how do you expect them to change an rts game? they offer a new part of the story with the gameplay that's become a national fucking e sport in korea for christ sake, SC is an RTS game at its best.. SC doesn't need to change all that much.

You actually think it's good? Not flaming or anything, I just found that a rather odd comment coming from a seemingly educated person.

The single thing that has disappointed me the most with the entire SC2 single-player campaign has to be the story-line.
