My little girl just appeared downstairs .. with a coin I gave her stuck in her throat .. I’m outside @ the time looking for some skins .. the wife calls for me i do the standard back slap job to get it up .. but she is still having trouble breathing .. so I move to the hymlick (sp?) move .. & use her whole torso to get it out .. she coughs again & then starts to breath freely .. swallowed it .. thank god .. I can tell you . .
What I’m wondering is what I didn’t do that could have dealt with the situation faster & easier for all involved .. ? any ideas ?

if she is small enough, the best way to remove is, and don't laugh.
Hold her by her feet, upside down and shake.

You probably acted as fast as anyone could have by the sounds of it. But i have no medical or first aid training so im just going on my interpretation of what happened.
Man, scary shit. Is she ok?

that is scary shit but i think prevention is the best way to deal with situations like these. if you are going to give her small objects, such as coins, to play with then someone should keep and eye on her at all times.

by the time she got there she woulda been dead. Performing that manouver was the best thing. It all depends on how far she had swallowed it though because putting ur fingers in there may have eliminated the excruciating pain of passing it through her ass.

Its was past collection .. as in retrieval via fingers ect (very small coin .. I don’t expect her to suffer much discomfort expelling it ).. & suggesting I whisk her off to the local emergency room without doing anything myself .. is irresponsible in the extreme .. you cant pass all your responsibilities over to the authorities you know .. nor should you want to ..

it's only 70 questions (or 80) and a sim ple yes or no. most of which u can instantly gaze upon and answer i.e. 'have u had sexual intercourse with a family member'

If she doesn't shit it out in 2 days, take her to the doctor, it could become lodged in the stomach damaging the lining.
The heimlic can be dangerous on younger kids because you can crack a rib pretty easily.
I almost choked on a piece of rock (the solid sweet kind:wink: ) when I was younger, my dad tipped me upside down and it popped out.
