Unfortunately, their David Copperfield-powered marketing machine worked well, too well. It's too late now, once you get some buttsecs, you can't undo the buttsecs
In all seriousness though, like many others have said, it's still a great investment and am happy with the purchase, though I can't deny that I feel betrayed a little inside.

can one use DSR without the geforce experience crap installed?
i see you have to set it in global settings tab for control panel then go to geforce experience and select your game there and assign the dsr to the tool config there in that GFE application.
It does not allow you to do that in a seperate profile just using NVCP it seems.
I have not used NVInspector to add a new profile and try forcing it there due to there not being a profile in the list for the game, I suppose adding a profile/creating one is ok to try but was wondering if anyone here has that issue trying DSR?

Of course you can
Just select the DSR factors that you need/want from the general control panel (you can choose more than one), then once you start a specific game, you can directly set the desired resolution in-game (default or DSR'd).
Experience is just a malware, stay away from it

I will have to see if this works on the games I play thanks.
edit: ok it works but I dont understand how my res at 1920*1080 and usinge 2x native res option in dsr outputs the game option to 2715*1527, o_O its not even double my native.

Bought myself a new Dell Ultrasharp 2515 with 2560*1440 resolution and IPS display. New resolution for my fucking 970. It is time for the future ladies and tittymen!

4GB, but shitty driver support?
4GB, but shitty power consumption?
4GB, but necessity to update shitty gpu bios, just so it will work in windows?
4GB, but slow, annoying shitalist control center?
4GB, but <insert a reason why you didn't buy ATI card>?

Never had driver issues, compared to driver issues i have nonstop with nvidia.
Never had to update bios on all my AMD cards that i've had.
CCC is just as horrible as NVCP, they are both equally shitty and lastly.

I love this argument so much :joy:
Nvidia's shit consumes anywhere from 20% to 100% more than the equivalent counterpart for a good 5 years -> "who cares about power consumption, Nvidia r 5% faster and bestestest!1!1!!"
AMD consumes 10% more than Nvidia's equivalent at most* -> "OMG LOL AMD POWER CONSUMPTION HAHAHAHA"
* not counting Maxwell, AMD has not released an answer to that. That's R9 290(X) vs 780 Ti, which are almost dead even in both consumption and performance.

i love your "facts" that you just pulled out of your ass. 20% to 100% more than the equivalent counterpart? which equivalent counterpart has 100% difference in power consumption, i'd like to see.

Heard about it. Well if it works then Nvidia is fucked. These bitches wanted to sell Gsync monitors. That wouldnt be necessary anymore....can this be true? I thought it is hardware monitor based shit not software shit....

Don't need to go that far back. Go look up the 480. Between 250-270W in games (with Furmark uncapped it was capable of pulling 320 or so). Meanwhile the 5870 sat at 130-145W (Furmark was around 190, 200 IIRC). The 480 drew as much power as a 5970, that's how bad it was.
The 480 is an easily forgotten failure by many, but yes, it was that bad. The 580 still drew more power than a 6970, with the 680 they got back on par. Before the 480, the 280 also drew a good 20% more than a 4870.
Edit: image for you, from TPU. Remember, TPU measure at the PCI-e slot + connectors, so their readings are about as accurate as it gets. And yes, boo fucking hoo, in this image it's 144 vs 257, which is "only" 178.5% (or 56.3% if you look at it from the 5870's PoV). But no, let's shit all over the R9 290 for consuming 280W instead of the 780 Ti's 270W. Totally the same thing, absolutely.
