I hope so, they were almost enough to make me give up the original game at the time, they were atrocious Laughing

what was wrong with the controls exactly? minus a few unconventionally mapped buttons i haven't had any problems with them.

First of all, radial movement is pure evil and should be banned from existence Laughing The other movement mode felt imprecise to me, often due to the different perspectives of the different screens in the game
Secondly, as Drowning_witch pointed out, the controls didn't maintain orientation across screens, which was a pain in the ass
Thirdly, I don't know if this has to do with the game or limitations of my hardware back in the day, but I remember I couldn't change direction while running because the game didn't register 3 button presses at the same time (this may have been a problem with the old-school PS2 keyboards tho, so it may not have anything to do with the game)

At any rate I hope they fix it in the remaster.

That's a general limitation of the standard keyboards. Not the game's fault.

Some of the more expensive keyboards have a 5 button limit while mechanical keyboards, allegedly, have no limit whatsoever.

There's not that many enhancements besides the dynamic shadows so requirements will be pretty low.
(Dynamic shadows, higher resolution character textures - but nothing about backgrounds. - and a new musical score.)

Or if you meant in comparison to the original then it's probably because the game engine requires OpenGL 3.3 or higher which means a somewhat more recent GPU is needed.

Motherfucking breadcrumbs

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

Grim Fandango Remastered-CODEX

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

it's one of the most stylish adventure games with fantastic voice overs, art, and originality. Even if you don't play it watch a commentary free lets play, as it works great as a machinima as well.

backrounds arent remade as far as i could see it. no real 16:9 support (cause they used the old 4:3 pictures), its only stretched if set to it. only improved thing gfxwise are the 3d models of the chars, look like a higher resolution, improved lightning and some aa. the only real difference to the original is the mouse support, the game wasnt a point and click. you had to use the keyboard to move etc, kinda tank like controls like in resident evil.

the game itself was is and will be always awesome. if you never played it or dont own it get the remastered version but play in 4:3, the stretched backrounds look awefull. you can switch between old gfx & controls to new gfx and mouse control anytime you want
