^ That's exactly it. With the PC-only focus and the increased money they are getting I really hope the campaign is significantly longer this time around.

1 and 2 are still amazing.

While more is always good, but i must say that when i played both games, without any expectations (not knowing the setting and not following the KS) i was pleasantly surprised by the length. Given the length some games have these days i felt it was more than adequate.

With all the money they are getting I hope that the campaign would be so robust that my grandgrand children would have to finish it Razz

BTW, how different is Dragonfall Director's Cut from the regular version. I stopped playing somehere midway and was wondering if it is different enough for me to warrant replay from the beginning....

Almost right off the bat there are visible changes to combat and you get to affect your party members advancement (not like your own, there's a special system for that). Story-wise there's a couple of new missions, tied to your companions histories.

@sabin1981

I haven't finished the main campaign coz I found it kinda boring. Does Dragonfall Director's Cut have a more interesting story, more choices to make? Is it connected to the original game somehow or one could start playing it right away without playing the original game?

1) Lenovo Legion 7 (AMD Ryzen 7 5800H, RTX 3080 16Gb, 32Gb DDR4, SSD 1TB +2TB

2) SFFPC (streaming via Moonlight+ Sunshine)

Well Dragonfall is widely considered far superior to Dead Man's Switch, but you're asking the wrong person for advice because I *loved* DMS. To me it was great, so if you didn't like it and I did, you're not likely to have the same interest in the game Smile

Dragonfall is better than DMS, but it's not different. It expands on the ideas and qualities shown in DMS, but it does not completely alter them. If you got bored by DMS, I doubt you won't get bored with Dragonfall.

I forced myself to finish DMS and loved everybit of Dragonfall DC.

Have to say I liked DMS as well though I saw the part of the ending which involved your "friend" coming.

The problem with DMS is Dragonfall. I really liked DMS when I played it, but after playing Dragonfall I realized DMS had a lot of shortcomings. It's not a bad things obviously, a sequel is supposed to use the predecessor as a basis and improve on it.

If they hit $1m (possible, though perhaps not likely) they'll create an additional 4-5 hour "mini" campaign running directly after the events of Hong Kong, which will also allow importing your final character. Campaign will be free to everyone who backed the game and will be out before the end of the year (apparently)

So that means an epilogue? Sounds very interesting. How many times have you wished to play an RPG after the events of the finale have transpired? I've lost count grinhurt

Really, what I want is for them to focus on a new game; with what they now know from gathering feedback, should be pretty good input to step it up: Hopefully with some proper investor support to up the quality/production values as well. The visual style and setting works for me big time. I think cyberpunk could possibly be one of the cooler settings for video games, and one that haven't really been used much.

Not bad, all stretch goals then and an additional 200.000$ as a buffer for any additional costs. Very Happy
(Plus they've done two earlier Kickstarters with Shadowrun Returns and Dragonfall I believe so they have experience now with crowd funding.)

Where are they getting this news from? There's no mention of a second chance campaign on the Kickstarter page or on Harebrained's Twitter. And I don't know why they'd run it through a third party site, when they ran it on their own site for Shadowrun Returns.

It's legit. It's posted on the KS website: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/webeharebrained/shadowrun-hong-kong

There's an image with a link to this second chance campaign.

They're just accepting pre-orders now for the low backer prices, nothing wrong with that. They have the money and people can still pre-order for a low price.
